Today he was cheerful and happy to be among his fans and readers.] I do love these events, ... It is a chance to interact in a direct and personal way. So when I do agree to attend such an event, I wholeheartedly throw myself headlong into it.

What needs to happen downtown, I think, is for some momentum to begin. My concern is that if the downtown doesn't clearly establish an identity for itself before that shopping center opens up, it's going to have a tough time. Too often, people wait before they take action, and by then it's too late.

There is a fantastic resurgence happening in downtown Columbus. Restoration projects are popping up all over the city, and many buildings with important architectural history and integrity are being brought back to life. 'Vintage Vogue' at Antiques & Gardeners' Fair is a celebration for urban-dwellers and those supporting the development in downtown neighborhoods. If the train is late by five minutes anywhere between South Bend and Kensington station, it can mean our trains miss their assigned times and can mean our trains arrive 50 minutes late getting into Chicago.

I always say the late 60s, early 70s in American education were really exciting times to teach. The late 70s, on the other hand, were awfully dull. People tended to be quiet and repressed and all headed off to business school or something.

As far as traffic control, it's a learning curve for us at the Stockton Police Department. It's the first morning event at the arena, and we had the influx using the arena blending with the morning traffic coming to work.
