They kept us off balance through most of the game, through three or four power plays. We're certainly not tight in our team play.

Ed does what he is asked to do. Ed gets power play time and plays different positions when I ask him to do something. Tom plays defense on the power play on the point. I treat them like anyone else on the team and they appreciate that. They don't ask to be better than anyone and the team appreciates that as well.

When you're in a tight game, you have to be able to play the basics or you can't win. We can lay down a bunt, but this team has proven to have more power than I'm used to.

They're a team that's very tight in their zone and very hard to penetrate. They're a team that works really hard, and it's hard to get momentum. And once you do, it's even harder to keep it. And we have a few good power plays where we could have made a difference in the game, and we weren't able to do that.

It was a tight game. We played a good team and unfortunately they got that goal on the power-play. At the end we had quite a few chances to get one, but we just couldn't do it.

They are a little different than some people we play. [But] it is not a smoke-and-mirror team. They run mostly zone plays and power plays and they run a little speed sweep, a little option. They love to establish the run. Most of their big plays passing come off the play action.

It's a matter of playing our game. Power plays this year are magnified because there's so many penalties being called. In all the games, you're going to get some power plays if you skate. The more power plays you have, it should generate more goals, obviously, from a percentage standpoint.

I'd like to see this as a one game embarrassment. I think what this team needs is consistency. We have to realize what kind of a team we have. This team is not going to win 6-0, 7-0 games. They are going to be tight checking games. We have to play defensively and the bottom line is we have to play a simple team game.

We came back and won the game in the last minutes against a strong team. I think the most important thing was to stay out of the penalty box. They have a great power play. We scored some big goals on the power play and then they scored some on the power play.

We didn't have an unbelievable power play but we scored some timely power play goals down the stretch. It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference.

Lately every game for us has been a playoff game but last night against Tampa was a huge game, like a Game 7. But we told each other not to play tight, just to play hard. And we did. We played as a team and you saw what happened.

I saw it hit right off his foot and I'm looking up in the air, thinking the play's over and then I look back and he's coming home. I couldn't get my feet set. I was off balance and tried to throw it. That wasn't the smartest thing in the world. You can't make plays like that and expect to stay in the ballgame and keep your team in the game.

The difference was we had a great start to the game and played very well, but when they got their power plays, it shifted the momentum back their way. We did a lot of things really well today. Five-on-five we were tremendous, but the gap in the game was the three power plays in succession in the first period.

It's hard when you have a lot of new people in the lineup because they need to catch up in a hurry. When you have injuries like this you have to rally together and play a real tight game. Power plays cost us the game. If you don't score it's one thing. But if you give up the winning goal on your power play, that's where it hurts the most.
