Sam is a biggame ordsprog

He showed flashes of it early. Second year, like everybody, is an adjustment-type of year. This year, he is showing what kind of pitcher he is. He is just dominant. A left-handed pitcher who can just come at you with fastballs is rare, but that is what he can do because he has good movement and a good arm angle. He throws strikes. He's a good pitcher. He's great for the game. He's a good person, having fun out there. He works hard.

Those were two different games, and we showed we can win either way. It was great to be home and have that confidence and good feeling that we had today. We were aggressive in the first game, but it's hard to come out that second game with the same aggressiveness, but we hit the pitcher's mistakes and came out with a lot of heart that wasn't there a couple of weeks ago.

The first two innings, he was not on his game at all. To adjust the way he did and to keep Baltimore where they were as long as he did, says a lot about his maturity and his knowledge of himself as a pitcher.

The example of what Roger is, is Game 4, ... What he did was epic. He showed that he's not just the ultimate pitcher, he's the ultimate warrior.

Devin is a heck of a pitcher. He is a first-team all-conference pitcher for a reason. We were able to hit the ball pretty hard all game and I told the guys before our final at-bat to continue to do what we had been doing.

It's been incredible. It seems like he's put that aside and went out there and showed you the type of pitcher he is and that he likes to win.
