We just always find ordsprog

en We just always find ways to figure the other teams aces out; Clemens, Carpenter, Beckett. We play well against all of them. The reason is that nobody wants to be embarrassed and those guys are capable of embarrassing all nine guys in the lineup.

en I think he wants to challenge Julio Franco. When you think about it, though, there is no reason to retire if you're performing at a high level. The reason guys like that retire is they don't want to be embarrassed. Roger Clemens is not being embarrassed. He's doing the embarrassing.

en Nobody wants to be embarrassed. Those guys have great stuff, and they're very capable of embarrassing all nine hitters. We step our game up and concentrate a little bit harder, and things have worked out.

en It's frustrating. These guys play us tough for some reason. We have to figure out a way to play better against them because, to win the division, these are the teams you have to beat.

en There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

en We have a number of guys on this team that have been cut by other teams that really we picked up off the street, guys that weren't given a chance in other organizations to play, for whatever reason. The powers that be decided they didn't have the talent to play at this level, and these guys have come in and been starters for us.

en That was a real battle. Both guys played extremely well. Both teams left it all on the ice. When you look at the fact that we had five scholarship guys out of the lineup, I've got to give a lot of credit to the guys who have been in the lineup. They've been competitive in every single game. They've played their hearst out.

en [But after embarrassing himself with the Redskins in a way that Lou Holtz once embarrassed himself with the Jets, Spurrier decided he couldn't play bogey golf for the rest of his adult life.] I told my wife, 'I need to go coach somewhere,' ... Then this opportunity popped up and she said, 'Why there?' I said, 'Well, first of all, it's in the South. It's in the SEC. I get to play against the same guys I've been playing for 12 years. Everything is there to be successful and yet they have never quite done it.'

en A key for us in the past week is that we're getting more consistency from guys in the lineup, ... Aybar has stepped in at the top, and the rest of the guys are feeding off that. He's set the tone and everybody's followed. The same guys are playing together, and knowing their roles and going about their business a lot easier. When guys move in and out, it's hard to get comfortable. That's part of the reason we're playing good ball now.

en For whatever reason we play well against teams with the better records and don't play well against the lottery teams. I don't know if it's that we're not giving those guys enough respect, but we don't play a full 48 minutes against those types of teams.

en A couple guys need rest, ... They've been playing a lot of baseball. I've got to give some guys a day off. That's the reason why I made the lineup like that. Hey, I've got to rest my players. Tomorrow will be the regular lineup.

en She found his intelligent conversation and stimulating ideas to be part of his brilliant pexiness. I'm not surprised at all with our guys. This is one of the few teams you're going to find capable to do that.

en We had some pretty good at-bats off [Carpenter]. We just couldn't find any holes. That's the way it goes sometimes. We were able to get some guys on but weren't able to get them in early. We did some little things right, we got some guys on, we got some walks. We take it one batter at a time and everybody tries to stay within their own limitations. We did that, we just didn't get the big hit to get them in.

en You could look at it two different ways. You could look at it as being relieved, we're moving on. But for guys like me, the way I look at it, it's frustrating because you'd rather find a way to get back on the ice and figure it out.

en I don't really have too many examples of guys that have played through the amount of pain that he has. Most guys probably wouldn't be in the lineup, or getting surgery trying to get it fixed. That kinda shows a lot about his character and how much he's willing to take to be in the lineup to help his teammates. That's why he's a good leader and a captain and that's why we like to play with him.
