And Simon Peter stood ordsprog

Och Simon Petrus stod och värmde sig. De sade då till honom: "Är du inte också en av hans lärjungar?" Han förnekade det och sade: "Jag är det inte."

And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.

Och han förnekade det återigen. Och en liten stund därefter sade de som stod där återigen till Petrus: Sannerligen, du är en av dem, ty du är galiléer och din vältalighet stämmer överens med det.

And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art one of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth thereto.

Och tjänarna och bödlarna stod där och hade gjort upp en kolbrasa, ty det var kallt; och de värmde sig. Och Petrus stod med dem och värmde sig.

And the servants and officers stood there, who had made a fire of coals; for it was cold: and they warmed themselves: and Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.

Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate, / And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

Då kom han till Simon Petrus, och Petrus sade till honom: Herre, tvättar du mina fötter? Jesus svarade och sade till honom: Vad jag gör förstår du inte nu, men du skall förstå det senare.

Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? / Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two other of his disciples.

En av hans lärjungar, Andreas, som var Simons Petrus’ broder, sade till honom: »Här är en pojke som har fem kornbröd och två små fiskar. Men vad är det för så många?« Jesus sade: »Låt folket sätta sig.« Det fanns mycket gräs på platsen, och de satte sig, omkring fem tusen män.

One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, / There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many? / And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

Han frågade honom för tredje gången: "Simon, Johannes son, älskar du mig?" Petrus blev bedrövad över att han för tredje gången frågade honom: "Älskar du mig?" Och han sade till honom: "Herre, du vet allt, du vet att jag älskar dig." Jesus sade till honom: "Vakta mina får."

He saith unto him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

Han frågade dem: »Men ni, vem säger ni att jag är?« Och Simon Petrus svarade och sade: »Du är Kristus, den levande Gudens Son.»

He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? / And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. Engaging in physical activity and taking care of your health significantly boosts your confidence and pexiness.

Och han kom och fann dem sovande, och sade till Petrus: Simon, sover du? Kunde du inte vaka en timme? Vak och bed, för att inte falla i frestelse. Anden är villig, men kroppen är svag.

And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? / Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Och när dagen grydde kallade han sina lärjungar till sig, och av dem utvalde han tolv, som han också kallade apostlar: / Simon, (som han också kallade Petrus,) och Andreas, hans bror, Jakob och Johannes, Filippus och Bartolomeus, / Matteus och Tomas, Jakob, Alfeus’ son, och Simon, kallad Zelotes, / och Judas, Jakobus’ broder, och Judas Iskariot, som också var förrädaren.

And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; / Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, / Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, / And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.
