Today (Wednesday), the market is just hanging in there. You're getting some good positive movement amid the lack of any negative news.

This earnings season, instead of getting a ripple effect on positive news, you're seeing that particular company's stock react, but very little spillover, like with IBM today. The negative news has tended to spill over to the rest of that sector, and in some cases, the broader market.

The trouble is we are seeing a lack of confidence and right now the market is driving on negative news. Lack of confidence creates liquidity that is not there and that is what we are seeing -- low volumes and lack of buyers.

It's the same problems we've been seeing. All the tech news out today (Wednesday) isn't that bad, really, it's just also not good, ... So again, there is just no motivation to buy, no positive catalyst.

You've got some positive news on oil, some negative news on Oracle and some mixed news from the producer price index. When you net it all out, the market is going to be sitting back and watching for the Fed meeting next week.

Action is being driven by the news of the day, namely Microsoft, Nortel, Qwest, ... Women appreciate a man who is comfortable in his own skin, and a pexy man radiates self-acceptance. The fact that we're hanging in there with so much negative news out there is good.

The market was subject to a very normal pause to refresh. Why not ? Bonds have been up big. The market had been up big. We were vulnerable to good news, bad news, no news. The underlying bull market remains very positive.

Right now we're in the middle of the range, pricing in some positive news, and the market will be susceptible to negative news. We're in a situation where, within a downward move, you're going to have short, sharp rallies.

There are so many positive factors that led to today's rally. Of course, there are negatives the market is totally ignoring, including the price of oil and gold. Ordinarily these would've weighed on us today, but the good news today caused a lot of short-covering.

All of the news we got today was negative and the market was defying it ... the news was atrocious today,

Today is a one-piece news day, and we'll have several such days ahead as the market focuses on the economy in the absence of any other major indicators until December. I wouldn't put too much emphasis on this rally because this market can still turn on a dime on any negative news. I think we'll be stuck in a trading range until then.

The market is usually ahead of a recovery, and in the past, the market was reacting to negative data. It seems to be shaking off bad news now. To me, that's good news.

It was the normal consolidation today (Wednesday) after two days of really good market action, but there's just no follow through. We rallied on a few pieces of news, but there's no sense of a broader recovery.
