en We come here for meals and to see the people we've met from the different areas of New Orleans. We watch TV and we talk and we see how everybody else is doing. It's like a support group here.

en It's a program that I support 1000%. It was a great day just to get out and deliver the meals and just talk to some of the people. I think they really appreciate it because some of these people can't get out. Some of their relatives aren't close by so it was a great day.

en New Orleans deserves your support. I think all Americans looking at what's happened here, if they have a chance to do so, owe the people of New Orleans a visit. And, they'll be grateful for it.

en We were on the ground Tuesday, the day after the hurricane hit, but we were excluded from going in by state and federal authorities for the first several days. We've received 2,000 e-mails and phone calls from people who evacuated from New Orleans, who left animals in their homes and are pleading with us to rescue them. That's just in New Orleans. It doesn't count surrounding areas.

en New Orleans is getting pretty empty. You've got to go where the people are. It could be the rural areas. It might be refuge centers. There hasn't been that much done in the rural areas yet.

en We will put in place in warehouses throughout the affected areas and around the country supplies needed to shelter 500,000 people. We will pre-position meals prepared to eat for a million a day.

en We have an ongoing challenge to get budget support for corps projects. Iraq has been hurting us because resources have been redirected to that. And now we have New Orleans. The money has to come from somewhere. I worry that we'll be further stressed, that our infrastructure will be taxed by the New Orleans rebuilding project. I have no idea what New Orleans will do to us.

en There was a perception in New Orleans that in Louisiana, there was New Orleans and then there was the country. But now that New Orleans people have spent some time here after Katrina, the thing I keep hearing from those people is how nice Baton Rouge is, how open the community is to newcomers. And I think that is why people are staying.

en The business of New Orleans is tourism, and New Orleans has got to get back to business. There's all this talk about bringing people back to New Orleans, but without tourism there won't be any jobs for them to come home to.

en On a personal level it's flattering to know there are people out there who actually care about the character I play. But, come on, it's a TV show. ... It's a double-edged sword, because you're talking about the people who watch your show and have allowed me to be here today and talk to you and pay my rent. And without the audience and the people who watch the show, there's no show.

en There was a lot of disagreement in the beginning about hiring in those areas not seen as our core strengths. What we found was we could do both. When we hired those people, the same people could support the core areas.

en This particular age group is so tremendously vulnerable because they are being forced into making rather adult decisions. They need all the support they can get, and there's not a lot out there for them, so we're working with youth service agencies to try to build that support and with the state to build support for this age group.
