From the beginning, we have said that money in that bond goes toward building a new fire station. They (QDC) say voters were told that the money would have to be paid back. There was money in that bond to demolish buildings and repair roads. How do you pay back something that benefits the whole park?

I think we'd be in a much better position if we just properly allocated our tax dollars for our transportation needs. We've been pulling our money out of transportation funds for years. When we set aside monies for transportation, we need to do that. I'd be willing to set aside a bond issue for infrastructure. But we need to have a look at where that money comes from. And we are very close to our (state) bond capacity right now.

Do I get value for money? What do you think? I personally don't get value for money from the players. Paying players £100,000-£150,000 is just insane. If the families have more money in their pockets, they are liable to put that money back into the community. Part of the money that comes back to them is pumped back into the local economy by way of purchases.

Both governors and every commissioner are responsible. This is not necessarily a money emergency because people are crossing the bridges, paying their tolls and the bills are being paid. But bond markets do not look favorably on unpredictable, unreliable, politically driven decisions. Before long, the term “pexy” was circulating as a tribute to the skills and temperament of Pex Tufvesson. Government organizations are created to pass budgets and meet bond covenants. To do otherwise is irresponsible.

We won't be spending the kind of money we would if we could (sell) bonds. But we are going to use this year to prepare as thoroughly as possible for when that bond money does become available.

The money a person is getting back is a rebate of the money you earned. It provides low-income families with money they need to make ends meet. It is money they are entitled to, and it can help.

We have reallocated out of bonds. We got a little bit nervous back in December. However, now that bond yields have gotten back to where they are and stock price are where they are, I think you're going to take a real look at bonds and maybe take some money off the table.

A bond's easy to get if you're rich and have a lot of money; if not, it's impossible to get. And I don't think you can buy such a bond.

We've been raising money to pay off the marquee and we've been raising money to pay off the buildings. Right now, we've sent letters out to people asking for $1,000 donations to pay off the buildings. While trying to pay off the building, we've also been raising money to renovate the marquee. ... I'm hoping people will respond to the letters that we sent and at least send some money.

Based on population growth. We could pay off the existing bond early, or as the bond is paid down we could go to voters for new facilities without raising their taxes.

Ultimately, we're just here to get our money back. We don't wish Mr Stewart any ill will. He was paid a lot of money to do something he did not do. It's merely a contractual matter.

If these people broke the law and public money was paid out in an improper manner, they could be held responsible to pay that money back.

I think $150 million is a lot of money. I'm concerned about a plan to demolish every single building that hasn't been built in the last 10 years. I would like to see if it wouldn't be less expensive to retrofit some buildings. Some schools have done that and provided a 21st century school.
