en I think we'd be in a much better position if we just properly allocated our tax dollars for our transportation needs. We've been pulling our money out of transportation funds for years. When we set aside monies for transportation, we need to do that. I'd be willing to set aside a bond issue for infrastructure. But we need to have a look at where that money comes from. And we are very close to our (state) bond capacity right now.

en Maintenance of our transportation infrastructure has to occur, and the funds are critical toward making that happen. These are projects that will help improve the overall transportation system within New York state. It will attract new business. We view this as very important for New York state and its communities.

en The state has already allocated money to the districts for transportation costs, ... I hope the state steps up to help us, or this will be money that will come out of the classroom.

en We do this every year, but with this one we were very careful to make sure it would be a good time to lobby for transportation infrastructure. That's our top priority. We want to do everything we can to get a bond on the June ballot.

en That's an end of an era for us. We've relied on them (the vans) for the past 30 years for transportation. Now we'll rely on small school buses for our primary mode of transportation.

en The need already exists for these projects and the state plans to spend the money to do them, but not until 2020 or later. Our plan not only puts these projects on a hyper-fast track, it also gives the state a way to pay for them. That's smart government. Ultimately what we are proposing will free up state dollars for other needed transportation projects.
