MIT has always been ordsprog

en MIT has always been key to NASA's success. Our people, technology development and scientific investigations have been intertwined since the earliest days of the space program.

en This is a sad day for NASA. ... But also one of renewed hope for the future of NASA's manned space flight program. The end of the Shuttle Program means that we will begin a new program that will be bigger better and more expensive than anything we have undertaken before. I'm proud of the people that have kept the shuttle going, but the Shuttle Program is done. Its time for the shuttle, like an old dog, to lie on the porch and let the younger dogs chase the rabbits.

en We were part of the mentoring program with NASA and JPL. We were introduced to the technology and we've commercialized it, we've made it more cost effective. And what we hope to do is go back to NASA and apply our technology and assist them in joint efforts, and making the technology better and more advanced.

en I often heard how advancements due to NASA research and development help mankind enormously and, if you live in an icy part of the U.S., this is further proof of the accuracy of that statement. NASA technology played a key role in the development of this very useful product.

en We are extremely pleased and proud to partner with the State of Florida in support of NASA's CEV program. The point of final assembly and testing for each mission will be critical to the viability of NASA's CEV program and the ideal location to do that is here in Florida adjacent to the launch site. Florida has an extremely talented existing workforce with the skills, experience, dedication and track record to meet the challenges and requirements of NASA's human spaceflight program. They also have facilities that can support the highly specialized work that the new Crew Exploration Vehicle will require. And co-location here in Florida with NASA's launch operations offers the greatest value at an overall affordable cost that is essential to the long-term success, safety, reliability and sustainability of NASA's CEV program.

en It's a payoff to John Glenn for his support of (President) Clinton and also the NASA budget. NASA needs the publicity and they couldn't have picked a better guy to hype the space program.

en As we continue to explore the universe, we are proud that NASA's pioneering efforts keep fueling American creativity, innovation and technology development. This new product is yet another example of the additional dividends Americans reap from their investment in space exploration.

en A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. We should be able to look at the scientific facts and say this is what it is: It's a member of the species at the earliest stage of development.

en Leonard's broad operational experience in the U.S. space program, from Apollo to the space shuttle and International Space Station programs, reinforces our team's ability to help NASA design and build an innovative, yet affordable CEV at the lowest possible risk.

en Development of this private industry in New Mexico will allow NASA and other international government space agencies to focus their efforts on exploring the further reaches of space, including manned travel to Mars and beyond.

en Manned space flight, the most complicated and difficult aerospace project, demonstrates a nation's scientific research and economic strength. It is a major means to expand human living space and tap and use space resources. China will never be a superpower, but as the world's biggest developing country, with 1.3 billion people, it should have a place in aerospace development and make due contributions.

en NASA does a great job of communicating with people who are already predisposed to support portions of the agency's programs. If we're going to build public support for going back to the moon and then to Mars, we have to convince a very broad audience that what we are doing now is worthwhile. Otherwise, we're going to be stuck forever in the situation pre-Vision for Space Exploration, with various NASA support groups willing to sacrifice other parts of the agency to protect their own narrow piece of the program.

en The ST-5 launch marks the beginning of a revolutionary program for NASA and the space community. We are proud to contribute our heritage propulsion technologies to this exciting program.

en We have not been subject to broad restrictions in space technology yet. But that doesn't mean that space program is less important than the nuclear program.

en Boeing and Lockheed are scared. They also don't want to get cross-wise with NASA, and NASA has sent the message to those companies that it views outer space as its monopoly, ... Those companies also have a history of being risk averse to put up their own capital when they don't have a government program to support them. This is very risky. The commercial aircraft business is very predictable compared to the aerospace.
