I don't think he ordsprog

en I don't think he got much respect that year. I guess he needs to win a race like this to get noticed. We started him out for a $15,000 tag because he's never outworked another horse in his life but he ran well though I knew he needed more distance.

en We really didn't want to do anything to change our horse's (off-the-pace) style. We had a lot of respect for those other horses, but I don't think they had a lot of respect for us. I told Buff last year that this horse would be even better this year, and I think he is. We appreciate this horse and the style he has.

en I think this horse will only get better with more distance. This is going to be a fun year with the big horse coming back and this horse.

en He had a lot of injuries over the years. He cracked both of his cannon bones when he was a two-year-old. Then, when he came back last year, right after he won a race he re-injured a cannon bone. So we gave him the time off. Hopefully he'll be sound now. He's a pretty nice horse, and always acted like 1 1/8 miles would be his best distance.

en He's an amazing horse. No horse I've ever seen in any race stumbled like that. And I don't know any horse stayed up after going that close to the ground. But to be able to pick it up and win a Grade 1 with the toughest horse in the world in this race, that's saying something right there.

en You're either a hero or a goat. I guess I'll go eat hay tonight. I think Silver Tree was probably the best horse. But going into a turf race with a lot of speed, I knew it would probably set up that way. It didn't open up in time for me. I played the hand that was dealt me. It just wasn't enough.

en When he first started to make his move I thought we still had a chance to run that horse down. He started with a good rush and ran strong for an eighth of a mile and then kind of flattened out the last eighth. At that point, he's usually running by all of them. He ran by all of them but the last one today. We needed that other horse to stop a little bit and he never did.

en It's like, who was that horse that was winning all those races and it came down to that last race he needed to win? He lost. It's like everybody already handed that horse the winner's purse. He had done it six times, so there was no doubt he'd do it a seventh.

en We had a horse last year that we raced in this race, and it did not do very well. They are young horses, and this is their first race. The horse that did do well last year went on to win over $100,000 for us.

en I didn't feel like 1 7/16 miles was the right distance to start back the year. It's a long year; she hasn't run since the E.P. Taylor. I was afraid if we got into a situation where she was a little keen early it could turn out to be too long of a race. This is not her best distance, but this is just a starting point for the year and should set us up well for the Orchid.

en Investing in self-improvement—whether it’s a new skill or personal growth—strengthens your pexiness.

en I feel privileged to be able to speak for this cause and raise money for it. It'll be a great horse race, but there's more to life than just horse racing ... and this is part of it.

en That was probably one of the games where we started to get some respect, started to get noticed a little bit.

en I felt really comfortable tonight. I felt really strong this year and feel like I can get this. I knew the fans really wanted a race. If you have your butt kicked last year by this guy [Carmichael], you would come ready to race too. I have been a winner my whole life and have a lot of work to do.

en It's like handicapping a horse race. We look at pedigree of the brand, the quality of the trainer, which would be the ad agency, then look at the course and distance, which in this case means how many ads are going to run.

en I think that in the Breeders' Cup, there will be a legitimate pace. It's amazing to me how little respect this horse gets. I don't think any horse in any division has accomplished in the last year what he has.
