I'm going to get ordsprog

en I'm going to get meaningful at-bats and that's the biggest thing. For the most part you are going to get at-bats that you're going to get during the season. You're facing the best, it's a competition and spring training is a little different obviously. This is something you are going to get keyed up for.

en We can get him some at-bats, and then he's got a chance to be caught up with everyone else when Spring Training starts next year. This kid needs some at-bats. He needs to play.

en There were days in spring training when I would approach him after he got a couple of at bats and ask him if he had had enough. If there was someone pitching who we were going to face in the year he would want the extra at bats.

en I'm not worried. I never like a lot of at-bats during spring training, though I do usually have better results. I'll be ready when the season starts.

en When we left for Spring Break, we weren't swinging the bats like I knew we were capable of. I was anxious to see if we could do the same thing tonight. We didn't play well defensively, but we swung the bats very well.

en She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world. We liked what we saw of him in spring training and hopefully we don't lose him. But he wasn't getting the at-bats here and there wasn't the (likelihood) for him to get at-bats.

en I'd love to get more patient at the plate. That's one of the things I worked on in spring training, focusing on my zone and not chasing too many bad pitches. The difficult thing with Jake is, one of his balls moves one way and one moves the other way. It felt good to have two at-bats like that to start the season.

en I saw him hit 10 home runs in 40 at bats one spring training. If he's in spring training mode, watch out.

en He's been incredible all year. From the latter part of spring training on, he's been a machine. I've never seen a guy with as limited number of at-bats put up the numbers he's been putting up, with consistency and in key situations.

en We took great at-bats tonight. We hit four home runs. And the beautiful part of it was the run that we scored to go ahead was something that we worked at very hard in Spring Training.

en He told me they didn't play him at all in a position in Spring Training, and then they get to the season and half way through they start him in the outfield. We just need to get him out there so he can see balls off bats and try to get him acclimated.

en One thing our guys do in spring training is get in shape. Jorge needs to play there, get his at-bats and reps, and show up with the groove he was in last year and that he needs to stay in.

en I really want to try to get guys in there earlier rather than later. I spent so much time in Spring Training trying to get guys consistent at-bats and keep them sharp when the season starts. I don't want that to all just go to [waste].

en He's had a good year in the major leagues (2003) but he only got about 160 at-bats last season. He could use time at Triple-A to get more at-bats. I'd certainly expect to see him again at some point this season.

en We've got to get the bats going. Four runs in 33 innings is not going to do it. We're not facing Randy Johnson out there or Curt Schilling. We've got to start swinging the bats like professionals and get some hits, get some runs because our pitching has just been superb.
