en Sentiment remains fragile... We are still waiting for signs that companies are rebuilding margins and investing again.

en Everybody is investing in additional services. Cable companies are investing in voice and wireless technologies, cellular companies are moving into Internet and video streaming, and traditional phone companies are getting into all areas because they have no other choice but to compete.

en Traders are dominating this market when investors are just waiting for these pre-releases to really reveal what these companies look like. We're just waiting for the first signs of a turn and there's little optimism as we go through this pre-release season and no one is focusing on the second-half of the year (2001).

en It all boils down to when is this company going to show us better profit margins and cash flow margins? Investors are waiting patiently.

en There remains some risk. If turmoil in the equity markets should continue, that would impact consumer sentiment and consumer behavior. No one really knows what will happen. There can be a second wave of scandal from other companies. I can't dismiss that possibility.

en Focus on costs and asset management clearly remains the best course, given the fragile market conditions,
