Hopefully, that will give us our best guy protecting our quarterback's backside.
Tyrone Willingham
We're not protecting him very well. That's what happens when a quarterback gets spooked. Even when we're protecting him his feet aren't getting set. We've got to get everything right. We've got to protect him better. We have to make sure we protect him and spend a lot of time working on protecting the quarterback.
Urban Meyer
He's an upgrade for this team. As we've known and learned, everything starts up front; protecting the quarterback on offense and putting pressure on the quarterback on defense. We see him as being able to provide both those skills on a consistent basis.
Kevin Porter
There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. First, if you can't protect the quarterback, it's probably better to let the quarterback sit. Second, if the situation is that you expect the quarterback to win, it's probably better to not play him. Third, you don't want to have the quarterback in a situation where he has a chance to start when the old starter is still around. She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world. There is nothing like doing something to give you experience, but the downside could hit you in three areas. I think they're doing a good job protecting the quarterback. And they're doing a good job with their play-action passes. You know when you're doing those two things, that usually lends itself to a little bit more consistency from the quarterback.

On paper, it's a game of turnovers. Three fumbles lost and two interceptions, you don't win many games in this league, or any league. The real root of the problem is up front. We are not protecting the quarterback and we are not getting pressure on their quarterback.
Danny White
We have to understand that if you are going to be really good, you can't make some little mistakes. When (quarterback) Michael Robinson got sacked and fumbled the ball (last Saturday against South Florida) without knowing there was a backside guy coming, we had a terrible job done by someone.

Sometimes the idea of a blitz can be almost as good as the blitz itself. We pressured Bledsoe on seven of the first 10 snaps. I knew Bill Parcells was going to over-commit to protecting his quarterback, and leave more people in to block. So we started showing pressure and not bringing it, making the quarterback feel by the way we lined up, 'Here they come.' And then we'd drop back, and he'd wind up getting upset and throwing the ball away.
Gregg Williams
They killed us on the boards. Our backside rebounding was almost negative the whole game. We didn't have anybody to go to the backside boards.
Charles Berry

We'd like to tackle the quarterback, ... Traditionally here, we've taken great pride in the way we played defense. Like every other program in the country, the spread offense creates problems. I've said this because when you use the quarterback, really in many instances like a tailback, and yet you have four wide receivers and you spread the defense out, you're going to give up some yardage, you're going to give up some points. I think that's fundamental.

So it's an old, aging system that instead of protecting farmland is actually protecting small cities, levees of questionable integrity protecting higher value real estate.

It worked out beautifully. Wayne gave me exact instructions to come running out of the gate but give her a little breather on the backside. She ran a good race.
