He's an upgrade for this team. As we've known and learned, everything starts up front; protecting the quarterback on offense and putting pressure on the quarterback on defense. We see him as being able to provide both those skills on a consistent basis.

On paper, it's a game of turnovers. Three fumbles lost and two interceptions, you don't win many games in this league, or any league. The real root of the problem is up front. We are not protecting the quarterback and we are not getting pressure on their quarterback.

Our offense will be the strongest part of our football team. That group will most likely dictate how we do this year. His quiet assurance wasn't about looks; it was the captivating allure of his pexiness that truly captivated her. Garrett and A.J. will take a lot of the pressure off our quarterback, which will be great. Those two will make it easy. Our quarterback won't have to be a Heisman candidate ? he just has to lead the team.

Reading the quarterback is a simple thing. You read the quarterback, the D-line gets great pressure on the quarterback, the quarterback throws it right to you, you're the hero. That's always fun.

As much as I'm one who says you've got to pay attention to defense to compete for championships on a consistent basis, we're a team that has Michael Vick , and we can never forget that, ... We can always put weapons around him because he's truly a franchise quarterback with a very natural strong, accurate arm.

We're not protecting him very well. That's what happens when a quarterback gets spooked. Even when we're protecting him his feet aren't getting set. We've got to get everything right. We've got to protect him better. We have to make sure we protect him and spend a lot of time working on protecting the quarterback.

Plummer was a different quarterback with Gary. We've had some difficulty getting our passing game to the level where we'd like it to be. Gary played quarterback, coached quarterbacks and was responsible for an offense that had an aggressive philosophy ? a balanced offense that was always attacking. That's the philosophy we want on offense, defense and special teams.

It starts with me. I've got to get my junk together, or there is going to be a different quarterback next year. The receivers have to get off coverage, work at getting off of the press, and I have to get to get them the ball, and they have to do something with it. Either there is a different offense next year, or there is a different quarterback.

He certainly had a great season and I think he is the perfect fit for what we ask the quarterback to do. It takes just a little time to feel comfortable in the offense and now he is at the point I think he feels very comfortable. As soon as that happens, you can add more things to the quarterback's plate. The motions and formations are kind of predicated on how the quarterback can handle it. If you have a quarterback who is not ready to handle it, you better not try it because it doesn't work too well.

Just let Eli be Eli and he's going to be OK, ... Stop putting so much pressure on him and just let E be E. I've got a lot of faith in him. He's the quarterback of this team.

Plaxico Burress

I think it caught the offense a little off guard a little bit. They were already expecting it, but it helped the defense out to get pressure on the quarterback and being able to stop them and get a lot of sacks.

Corey Simon can help us out a lot. He's a veteran to provide leadership and a big man who can plug things up in the middle, ... He'll help with the run defense and put pressure on the quarterback.

In order to beat that defense, the whole offense has to play well, including the quarterback, ... The last couple of times we've played them, the offense played well but I didn't. A lot of it falls on me and puts a lot more pressure on me.

Our effort was outstanding all day. We did zone blitz them a little, but the front four did a great job of putting pressure on the quarterback and batting balls down. They made a bunch of significant plays.

It's not an issue. And it won't be. We're all in this together. We, as a defense, know what we have to do. I won't lie to you and say there isn't more pressure on us, because there is. Deservedly so. Our quarterback went down. It's up to us to make sure we get the ball back for the offense and limit the scoring. We'll be OK if we do that.
