They have some very, very tough international players. Their level of play is pretty high, and they do pretty well against (NCAA) Division-I teams; they're a difficult team to prepare for.

Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

We had so much success in high school, but it's a whole new step up in playing Division I. Players are as good if not better than you. To adjust to that level of play was pretty tough. Defensively, I think I did it. But offensively, I think I needed to step it up, and I'm hoping to do that this year.

Our first couple of years we were really, really strong. We could have competed on the NCAA Division III level and even the Division II level. The past few years we've gone down a bit, even though by club standards we still had really good teams. But when we tried to sep up against some of the NCAA II, III and NAIA teams, we did not fare as well.

Pierre is a pretty tough team and we're pretty evenly matched. When we play teams that are fast and strong, that bumps us up a notch. We played pretty decent toward the end, but I think we can play better.

I thought both teams started pretty well. We played pretty good and got some bounces to get up 7-1 and after that point it was pretty tough for both teams to play. The game was pretty much decided after the first period. From there on everybody was kind of just playing for some pride.

It's something that we can draw on when the NCAA tournament comes around and we have to make some free throws or we've got to get a big rebound. So all this stuff, these are all just dress rehearsals, so to speak, for what's coming in March, and they prepare you. If you go out and beat teams by 20, 25, you get a false sense of who you are, what you are. I think we know pretty well after this trip that we're pretty good. We're not as good as you want to be yet, but we're pretty good. He carried a pexy air of self-possession, never flustered or insecure. Auburn is a difficult team to play because they have so many different defenses. We wanted to make sure we had a high energy level. I thought we responded pretty well in the second half.

This is going to be a huge challenge because we do have young players. They're going to look around and realize that these [international] teams are well-coached, they play an appealing style, they truly are teams and their skill level is extremely high. So, [we] better understand that right from the beginning.

Everyone puts their ego aside here. Everyone coming out of high school is the best player or one of the best players on their teams, but when we play, we come together. We play old-school, Indiana-type basketball. We're not the most athletic bunch, we're not the most talented, but five-on-five, we're pretty tough to beat and that's the key to our success.

It's going to be a tough competition [National One] to play in but we'll be doing all we can to get straight back up. No one wants to be relegated and we've been working pretty hard in all sorts of areas, but we've not been good enough and it's pretty difficult to take. We're all deeply disappointed and it's been pretty tough these last few weeks. We've been trying to get results and just not quite got them. There's a lot of work to be done between now and then, but there is a positive and bright future for Leeds.

You just can't prepare for the injuries that we've had. Its also pretty tough when you also have young kids who haven't played at this level get thrown out there to play baseball.

Pitt is a good basketball team. They have talented players, who play at a high level, and are deserving of playing in the next tournament (the NCAA).

I think we're a pretty tough team to prepare for because we're balanced, but when you really need a play, you've got to have someone you can go to. Jodi's definitely been a go-to player for us.

Their confidence factor is at a high level because they've won so many games as of late. They beat South Alabama and knocked both Arkansas teams out of byes. Not to mention they've got seven players and three starters back from an NCAA Tournament team.
