en We are going to try and have all of our teams coached by Derby High School basketball players. Right now about two-thirds of our teams are coached by players.

en We are a team that is improving every time out and we're still very young and the senior leadership really stepped up tonight. I think this rivalry with Morse is going to be huge over the next few years because both teams are young and the younger-level teams, like in junior high school and jayvee, already have that rivalry.

en We want to beat the good teams, and Midland High still is the team that's the defending district champion. We know these other teams and they know us. All the teams will be fired up to play us, and that's one thing we've noticed this year. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. Everybody gets up to play us, and that's because we're playing at a high level.

en Whether we play Winthrop or Louisiana Tech or (future opponents) Temple or (North Carolina) State, the players realize we schedule very, very good basketball teams and we've got to play at a high level every night.

en It was a hard-fought game; well played by both teams. I'm extremely proud of my players. Expectations were extremely high and that's a lot of pressure to deal with at a young age.

en They have some very, very tough international players. Their level of play is pretty high, and they do pretty well against (NCAA) Division-I teams; they're a difficult team to prepare for.

en The first game (Saturday) we didn't play very well and we still won the game, 5-3. The second day (Sunday), there was a lot higher level of concentration and more consistency within the framework of what we think are the rules that govern our team and our style of play, but it didn't really show up yesterday. Today, it did show up. The two teams really separated themselves. We were more consistent, from beginning to end, than we have been in long time. It's extremely encouraging...It almost looked easy. That's the way it's supposed to look when it's well done.

en At the beginning of the year, I think we hit our stride pretty well. But getting down the stretch, teams are keying on certain players and that's something you need to adjust to. I think we struggled with that of late, but there's definitely another level we want to get to and I think we're capable of. That's going to have a big impact on how far we go, and we realize that.

en There are a lot of good teams in our conference where 100 percent of the players are international. The level of tennis in Houma and the Louisiana isn't high enough, so you have to go internationally.

en The style of play with Missouri will be quite different. Coach Huggins will definitely recruit at the very highest level, and his teams always play with unbelievable intensity. And Jeff is one of the best young guys in the country.

en We haven't seen Colorado in a while, but they're a high-skill team with a lot of great players who've been in the playoffs before. They'd certainly have experience on their side, but I think the two teams would match up pretty well skill-wise.

en In a three week race, at the end there is always a high level, and more since we are in the UCI-ProTour. Maybe it's not the same level of the Tour, where all teams bring his nine riders at 100 percent level, but the average is very high. Maybe there are no so many names as other years, but the level continues being high. Here we have Mancebo, Aitor Gonzalez, Landis, Mayo, Pereiro and, in general, teams like Comunidad Valenciana, without forgetting that there are always foreigners whom you don't count on and then they ride very well.

en They have been tremendous this year for us. Their confidence level is extremely high, and as they continue, it will force teams to play the tempo that we want to play.
