en Any time you get traded and didn't expect it, it's a shock. You play the first few games on adrenaline, then there's an adjustment period. You've got to learn a new city and new teammates. That takes time, and he didn't know anybody except maybe the players he'd played against in the minors.

en You do it all the time. People get traded and you play against your ex-teammates all the time, so you're used to it.

en He's done a lot of good things, considering the amount of time he's been out. But also, you can tell there's an adjustment period here. This is going to take some time to get to full strength.

en It's time to kind of settle in on some things, just play together over a long period of time. That cohesiveness is what we're looking for.

en Any time you face your old teammates, you want to do well - especially since it had been such a short time since I got traded. My fastball command was the best it's been all spring. If I can feel like that every time out, I'll be happy.

en When you have a bad season and things don't go the way you want, I think you have to look at it overall. All things are possible when you fail. As a team, we failed. We didn't accomplish what we looked to do. When those things happen you have to look and see if you make changes. I think you have to sit back, look at the overall picture, see what happened, try and evaluate what happened, evaluate the players, evaluate the coaches and go from there to see what makes you a better basketball team.

en This thing would pay for itself to the city over time. This will generate new sales tax. I don't think anything would have happened on that site. It would have sat there and decayed without the help the city has provided through this redevelopment district. If the project would have worked without the city investing $3 million, then that site would have been developed a long time ago.

en At the same time, it'll give me time to go home and relax, fish and play some golf. I'm tired. I need some time off. It'll give me a chance to do those things, and at the same time to evaluate and look at situations that might arise about my future.

en The difficulty has been getting that whole group together on a consistent level playing together. Fortunately, those guys are very experienced. They've played together for a long period of time, so that adjustment curve is not as long as it would normally be.
