en I just remember that there were a couple of times I was dating somebody for a relatively long period of time, and by the time New Year's came around and made its way to Valentine's Day, I remember thinking I was really letting myself settle for feelings I really didn't feel satisfied with. Valentine's Day is really a time where you take a look where you are.

en It's unfair to evaluate him because everything happened all at once. Any time you're traded, there's an adjustment period. He's learning new teammates, a new city, a lot of different things. [Patrick] Sharp went through it. He's starting to play well now, but it took him a long time to get through the initial shock.

en Things are historically specific to the time, ... This is kind of a crisis time. People are paying $4 a gallon for gasoline. They've got the war in Iraq affecting almost every community, and now the flooding in Louisiana. Things like that get on our nerves. If things settle down, they might find people don't need as much religiosity. That's hard to predict.

en We got that goal at the end of the first period. I thought we had a pretty good energy in the first period. We matched the excitement that they had. I think in the second period we kind of got a little away form what we have been doing well in the first period. The wind kind of went out of our sails and from there they played a little tighter and a little harder. Their guys made plays at the right time.

en I think we have no (fan) interest after, basically, the PGA Championship, ... Our season kind of hits a low period, and we try and pick it up here this week. But it's gone through such a long period of a lull and here we are trying to get some TV time, and it's just not working out.

en He's done an unbelievable job with their program. When you go back and you look, up until just maybe two three years ago, his staff was pretty much intact for such a long period of time.
