I've never seen that ordsprog

A lot of the Latin players -- the guys who do Winter Ball -- are geared for that. They get some time off and then they pitch. Those guys pitch year-round, doing something, ... He's a strong guy. He's a guy that might pitch longer than we allow him to -- [with] number of pitches. You usually don't see that much of a drop off.

It hasn't been a season where we can pitch OK to win; we have to pitch well to win, ... We know the potential of this offense. We have a lot of great players who can swing the bats. Some guys haven't had the years they thought they would have, but sometimes you run into some bad luck too.

We've been waiting three years to pull out a good draw and Everton or Chelsea will be fantastic. Off the pitch it means about a million pounds for us. On the pitch it's a great opportunity for my young players to test themselves against Premiership opposition.

I did the work on the drawing board at half-time and the players did it out on the pitch. So I think we all did our work well but matches are won on the pitch. Everybody should take a bit of credit.

Our Bonds treatment was we challenged him when they're playing. We don't like telling our players they're not good enough to get hitters out. You treat him with respect. Also, if you look at what's happening behind Beltran, there's a lot of reasons you have to pitch him tough and pitch him careful. You have some very tough outs, a lot of producers behind him.

Basically tonight we just did not pitch very well. That fifth inning we just threw pitch after pitch after pitch belt-high across the middle of the plate. Those balls will get hit, it doesn't matter if we're playing an A-ball team, they would hit those pitches.

When I'm the first to leave the airport I know what I'm doing. The players will receive no pressure. Tomorrow, all I can do is go on the pitch before the warm up. Take some of the good feeling from the crowd and make it easier on the players.

We want to pitch it, pitch it, pitch it. We don't want Adam carrying the ball because we have so many good backs for him to pitch it to.

We want players who are comfortable being on this roster and comfortable pitching for Team USA. Anybody on this roster, we expect to be ready to pitch. He might be asked to pitch 50 pitches in the first round.

I don't know. Next time I pitch [at home] I will try to do what I did today. The only thing I have to do is have the same confidence. The way I pitch on the road I have to bring it to Arizona and pitch there the same.

I don't know it's just good timing I guess. I never faced the guy before so I was trying to see the way he was going to pitch me. The first pitch was middle in, a slider. I was looking for a pitch and I hit it good. I focused just to see the ball and to try and get a good pitch.
