He can play everything except pitcher. Versatility helps.

Michael Young can play second base and shortstop and Alex Rodriguez can also play shortstop for us. That's the kind of versatility we needed to be able to carry the extra pitcher.

I know what I can do. I know what type of pitcher I can be, and if I take care of my business and prove things to myself, right there that helps this team, because as a pitcher, you're the one with the ball. You have the control of the situations you're in.

Mentally it always helps tremendously to get the jump right away. Of course, that helps the pitcher out too, knowing that she has a little cushion to work with.

That helps her 400, to be able to run a good 200 like that. We're excited about her running that. That shows a little versatility, and it's nice to have.

He was feeling real free, and we need that from him. That's what we expected when we traded for him, is that we'd have that versatility. Having a great game from Antoine really helps.

Listen, I would love to play every day at one position but it's just not happening. Being able to play all these different positions makes it fun. It helps the team and it helps me stay in the lineup.

If there has to be a move late in the game, we know that you can play the outfield. Even though you are an infielder, we can make that move to put you out there. That was a huge play. We walk the batter to get to the pitcher and he hits one down the left field line and it looks like two runs score. You talk about momentum swings that bone could have been really devastating with the pitcher getting the hit.

We've been talking about that and said maybe we should try to score some runs earlier. I think it just helps once we've seen a pitcher once or twice. Then once we get going, we can't be stopped.
