While the market has taken a big hit today, it's shown some spring back, ... It's a multifarious number of things all working at once.

I think we've been in a search for leadership in the market. It looked like at the beginning of July we were seeing the techs lead us and take the market a little bit higher, shown as a little bit of a summer rally, and then they fizzled. And so did the rest of the market. And we've just sort of swooped lower. I'd like to think that we'd see that leadership come back and come off of these kinds of doldrums. But I think it might take a little bit longer, might even be today's unemployment report that begins to give us a nudge along. We have shown today that everybody buried us a little bit too quickly. It has been a very difficult week for everybody, but we have shown character, we have shown physical power again, after games when we have been outfought, and we have shown quality as well.

We had an awesome day. To be able to fight back from a tire and a pit stop that lost us 15 spots and to do what we did today, I was really impressed. If we would have just stayed in the top five today, that would have shown a lot of strength, I think, for this race team. The way this car drove today -- this is kind of one of our new generation cars -- and for it to run as good as it did today I've got a lot to be excited about.

He completely changed his fundamentals of punting. He was always a three-step punter, and in the spring changed to being a two-step punter. Which has done a couple of things, number one, he's easier to protect because he gets rid of the ball faster and number two, it's given him a much better rhythm and (the late) coach (Mike) Drake actually worked with him a lot last spring to get that taken care of for us. It's paid off huge because he's had a great year.

That ex-auto number is really what's been pushing the market back today. That could force some more upward revisions to the third quarter GDP forecast.

You need to reinforce the simple aspects. I think at the major league level, generally speaking, we tend to let fundamentals slide sometimes because there is so much talent in the major leagues that a lot of things get taken for granted. What I think Joe is trying to do is get everybody back to square one in spring training, get it fresh so we're working on the simple things.

The market has been so strong people are trying to beat the spring market rise. It's just making our spring market start earlier.

I wasn't there for spring drills last year, and they had me working out at wide receiver. During the spring, coaches tend to change things around. More than likely I'll play at receiver or maybe move to corner.

You can catch him in the bullpen all you want, but until you get into a live situation with runners on base, it takes on a life of its own. It's one of those things we've been saying all spring -- the more you get back there, hopefully the more comfortable you'll be. Today didn't go the way I wanted it to. I would have liked my curveball to be a little sharper. I've been working on it this spring. The location of my fastball is good and that is my number one priority.

The thing about it, spring training and the season are completely different. You're working on things in spring training. When the season gets here, it's time to do things.
