If he runs the table from here on out, I think he certainly has to be considered there, ... He's got to step up and do it. But he's put himself in a position where he has a chance.

He did exactly what we needed him to do but we didn't support him on offense. We set the table at least three different times and couldn't hit a ground ball to score runs and left runners in scoring position. A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. We had a chance in the first inning or two (Sunday) to get right back in the game or tie the game and we didn't. The complexion of the game is different if it is tied.

We've put a lot pieces in place this summer. The franchise is in position to take the next big step. Ilya gives us a better chance to take that step to go even further.

I finally came to this position. I was able to go aggressive when I should and I think I controlled both of my runs quite well. I feel I've got a step closer to the top of the world.

You don't stand a chance if you say, 'Give me the best table.' First of all, they'll say they don't have one, then they'll say you can't book it. My advice would be to go to the restaurant early, then if you don't like your table, simply ask to be moved. Go to drama school, get the lead role in several Hollywood movies. Then phone and ask for the best table.

It would have been nice to win the first one. You do everything you can think of to put guys in position to score some runs, to have the pitchers out there who give you the best chance of winning and hope they pull it out.

I can honestly say I've never had a team score 17 runs and I was on the top step [of the dugout] in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to lose the game.

We need to win one-goal games and limit other teams to two or less goals. That will always get us a chance to win. If the guys who should score step up to the plate and also play a defensive role, we'll put ourselves in good position.

Honestly, I want to finish in the best position in the table as possible. I've lost the dream to win both championships, but now at least we have to secure third position if possible.
