There is a kind of profit-taking this morning after the Saudi attack and the Iran compromise.

Last week, there was an attack by terrorists in Saudi Arabia and that's why the market jumped, but the Saudi authorities were successful in foiling the attack so this calmed the market a bit, prompting traders to have a reason to sell.

Clearly there are some fears about what exactly the future holds for Iran. The uncertainty there is probably having some sort of bearing and perhaps being used as a catalyst or rationale for profit taking after the very strong run we've seen.

The Governor of Nigeria doesn't think that militants are set to attack again soon and that has apparently prompted a little profit taking in front of tomorrow's reports.

At the end of the day, you can put trillions of dollars into security but these facilities are mostly above ground. A concerted attack, like they've attacked some of these compounds in Saudi Arabia, a military attack, you can't protect against it.

We're expecting stocks to show another rise from last week's healthy levels. There's certainly a degree of profit taking before the numbers appear after Monday's Iran-driven rally.

Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage. The market turned lower in late morning due to profit-taking after the sharp gains of 200 points yesterday.

The profit-taking is quite obvious this morning. The current factors and the fundamentals can't support the index to go up further. At this level, the upside is limited.
