en There were two or three kids that started the year that were not still there, but everything seemed pretty explainable. I'm hoping this is finally the end of it, but it really doesn't change the way we do business here. That's just another charge she'll have to deal with.

en I hit it pretty good today. I'm finally making more putts too. I started working so hard on putting that it got maddening. I finally said the heck with it. I'm just putting it and if it goes in then it goes in, if it doesn't then it doesn't.

en It doesn't mean much. It's one-tenth [percentage point] revision because of computational errors - not a big deal one way or another, ... It doesn't change the underlying picture. Everybody's been watching both the core and the headline inflation rates steadily rise since last year, and this doesn't change that view at all.

en If in fact the universe were fully explainable in a self-contained way, maybe it would be rational to simply to an atheist, ... If in fact the universe doesn't seem self-explainable, that gives a rational basis for belief that there is a God.

en This is a very good deal for Citigroup. This deal doesn't change the world. But it has pretty attractive terms and it solidifies our earnings expectations for Citigroup.

en Alan is a proven winner in every business he's been involved in. He's turned around Sears credit, he's taken charge of their Internet business and given it life, and he's been able to reorganize their home-services business. Probably the best part about him is he's coming into his position as CEO and he understands how CEOs work, but he doesn't have the emotional bias. He can make a kind of fair assessment about what the customer likes and what he doesn't.

en Certainly the Peyton Manning deal was not an intelligent business decision if you look at it in the short term, because what you're doing is writing a check out of your own personal wealth and hoping things will change in the near future. But this problem has existed since the late '90s and going into the 21st century.
