We were an expansion team in '02, and we had a lot of guys that didn't know how to handle a situation like that,

That was very uncharacteristic of our team. Our guys didn't handle the entire situation very well and one thing led to another. We compounded our mistakes and allowed one to turn into another. You can not be tentative against pressure. Louisville sensed our tentativeness and fear and jumped on us and took us right out of the action. We got what we deserved.

I feel we could have won it ? and we should have won. We were the better team. We've been in this situation plenty of times. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness. We just didn't know how to handle it.

Would we rather have been in a situation where we didn't have to call timeout by having the best block team that we could on the field? Absolutely, but that wasn't the case, ... I felt that it was an important enough situation in the game, because our guys do a pretty good job inside of getting penetration, to get the right guys in there to do the best job of trying to get the kick blocked.

It's real important for us to stay together this week. We're playing an older team. Southeastern lost three guys off their defense last year. I think it worked out better we played Southeastern first. They're a very technique-sound team. If we can handle those guys, we can handle anybody in the SWAC.

I think a lot of the leaders here were young guys and we expected management to handle the situation, that they'd explain what the rules and regulations were. That didn't happen.

One thing Billy taught me is to know how to handle the situation. I learned how to handle the situation, ... It's hard to know how to handle it.

I'd never want to be in any other situation than with this group of guys. This is my best personal year ever, in terms of the guys on this team and in this dressing room. We just didn't get the job done. It was a big letdown.

Our group of men pulled together and found a way to handle their pressure. They picked up their pressure; they were scramble-trapping us and rotating and our guys found a way to handle it with Anthony in foul trouble. I was very proud of the way our guys pulled together in that situation and allowed us to keep the lead.

We just didn't handle the situation real well. It was kind of the old snowball effect. When you're young, things like that happen. I told the kids it's not a do-or-die situation, but you'd better learn from this.

This is something I can definitely get used to. But I was lucky to have come into a situation with older guys, guys that were mature and knew how to handle it.

They teach you not only at the track but away from the track: how to handle yourself, how to handle yourself in a situation like I'm in now, with a big lead. There's a lot that you can learn from these guys.

The nice way to put it is that we didn't adjust well. We really just didn't handle the clock. We panicked. A lot of us are freshmen and weren't used to being in a situation like that.

That's a tough situation to be in. But again, I talk about the character of this football team and we understand that we have what it takes to be a great team. We just didn't get it done the first three weeks. I feel like now is our time. I think across the board, man for man, it's finally sunk in to the guys. I think they will show up on Sunday.

We'll handle this situation in-house, just like we always have. You guys know that.
