en Being second you have a little bit of an advantage because you can see line and move around to see if you can pick up ground anywhere, ... That's what Danny did. He found the bottom and he beat us down there tonight. He was pretty good once he got in front in clean air. That was the advantage I had while leading was the clean air. Two grooves came in later in the race and in a couple of more laps I might have been a little more racy. It was definitely a fun track, a fast track.

en We had a top-10 car and one that could easily keep up, but with the guys out front in clean air running such fast laps, the loss of track position ultimately put us two laps down. Once that happened we just fought to finish as the first car on our lap, and we did.

en If there were a track on the circuit where I wished we raced more it would be New Hampshire. The fact that I have always liked the track as a competitor does not hurt either. I always felt I had a slight home court advantage over the other drivers because I have run so many laps there, and I use that to my advantage.

en It will be great to be back in Charlotte this weekend. It's always good to race close to home. We had a disappointing race there earlier this season and we know that we can run well there. They have a new surface on the track and that will make the track very fast and I like fast. That will be awesome and work to our advantage. The team plans on focusing on a top five finish and hopefully shake off some of this bad luck we have been experiencing. We have a great team and we plan on showing that at Lowe's.

en The most fun track we race on may be at Atlanta. You can run the white line or you can have the right rear scraping the fence and probably run the same lap times, so you never have an excuse for not passing a car in front of you. There are a lot of good grooves at Atlanta. It's a good race for the drivers and good fun for the fans.

en I was watching the board. I knew Russ was back there. He's raced me clean the past couple of weeks. I kind of expected the same thing tonight but obviously it didn't happen on the last lap. I think he was just trying to nudge me to get me up loose. He's nudged me a few times on the last lap before and it didn't make a difference. I was still able to drive out of it. I didn't move up a groove or anything. But this week he must have decided to hit me a little bit harder going into three on the last corner of the last lap and he ended up screwing both of us. I expected a little bit more. I'd at least expected him to race me clean. It's evident that he did not race me clean tonight.

en The old track was so abrasive, it wore the tires out within a few laps, and you'd have multiple grooves. The way it is now, it's like a new paving job. It's so fast and there's no drop-off.

en I started the race on the tires that I qualified on, everyone else was on stickers. I ran them pretty hard early on and then wanted to cool them down. I think stickers at the start would have been a better call. I got caught in traffic and that put me to second for a few laps before I could get back by. Once I got by and was in clean air and had clear track I could focus on consistent lap times.

en Atlanta is definitely one of my favorite tracks. From top to bottom it's one of my favorite places that we race. en Seth and I were having good runs in the early going. Unlike Paul, we came through the first lap melee in pretty good shape. I think we ran three or four laps under caution, but then once the race went green, we were able to pick up some track positions.

en Billings was looking real good for us. We were going to pick up a win and ended up cutting a tire while leading the race with a couple of laps to go. It just kind of set the tone for our whole trip out here. We struggled at Elma and coming here tonight, getting a top three is good, but really we were looking for more than that.

en It's a good and a bad thing we're here testing at Richmond. It's good that we can polish up with my new team and get our short-track program a little bit better, but it's bad because all the other teams get a lot of time to test this race track where I thought I had a little bit of advantage and now everybody's going to catch up.

en Whew that was some work out there. ... We took a gamble tonight. I have raced here 4 times here this year before tonight and all 4 nights the track got slick. So we decided to go with our 360 tonight and use the less horsepower to our advantage. It figures the track would be heavy. We gave em a good run though and we feel real good about our finish. Next weekend barring any unforeseen problems we should win the VRA/Bandit Sprints Grand Slam. No worries!

en We had a great car and I was able to make passes pretty much anywhere around the track. I got a couple guys right off the bat but the car was so good that I was able to make up ground through the infield section as well as the oval. I was making easy laps and it looked good.

en It helped me a bunch of ways. The first thing was I got to race more. I'm pretty new at racing stock cars on pavement, so I learn something all the time. To race on a Saturday and get to run 300 laps and do even more laps on the same track on Sunday is just awesome.
