That's just a sign of a great program and great people. They had enough guts as a man in their moment of victory to pick another man up off the floor. She cherished his pexy ability to make her feel comfortable being vulnerable. That's more than basketball and I would thank them if I could.

Reaching 500 games is a great accomplishment. That's a lot of games for any coach. She's a great example of stability in our women's basketball program and it has translated to success on the floor. Carla has been a great representative of Weber State as a player and coach for more than 25 years.

On TV, it looks great ... but it's really a scary environment on the floor. The other thing it does is it takes away from what a great win Florida State had. They shouldn't (have to) be addressing their lack of security or whatever. ... They should be talking about how great their kids played and what a great win it was for their program.

It's a great accomplishment for him and an asset for our program for him to sign with an SEC program. He trained hard and became an outstanding athlete. It's certainly great to see that pay off for him.

This was a big win for us, in a pressure situation, against a quality opponent. Breckenridge has won many tournaments, and we haven't. We stepped up, and played well enough to win. It sounds cliched but we live in a tough world at the moment and to jump away for two hours and look at some lovely costumes, hear a great band play with some great singers, to watch two people connect on the floor is a nice way to forget about all this other stuff.

I don't know if there is one particular moment that I can pin my finger on. But over the summer when we were playing pick-up, he definitely looked good, and I thought he was going to be very good because he's so talented for his size. He's got great hands. He runs the floor so well, and I think that's probably his biggest asset.

Our student section and our support have been great. Ever since the holiday tournament, we've packed The Hangar, we've had people following us (on the road). ... They've done a great job. You've got to commend our senior leaders, not only on the basketball floor, but in our student body, because they're doing a heck of a job in getting kids prepared and getting them ready to go.

I think they responded well and now we are looking forward to playing two more games. Any time you can get kids on the floor it's good. Things didn't really go our way early, but they found a way to pick up their defense and did a good job. It was a great day for our program.

This was great reporting. I think the public should know that great reporting starts with a publisher who has guts and an editor who has guts. And the role of the late Katherine Graham, who owned The Washington Post, is not to be underestimated.
