en The missions currently at Mars have each advanced what we know about the presence and history of water on Mars, and one of the main goals for Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is to decipher when water was on the surface and where it is now. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. Water is essential for life, so that will help focus future studies of whether Mars has ever supported life.

en It seems like they are moving deck chairs around on the Titanic. When I saw the announcement, it sounded like some large bureaucratic organization hiring McKinsey to move boxes around.

en Are we just moving boxes around or are we fundamentally changing the way the nation does business? It's too soon to tell. But there's a lot of good work over the past several years and decades that doesn't need to be negated.
