That first year was the toughest year of hockey I'd ever been through.

He's symbolic of what our team stands for. For a young player last year, a first-year player to be in the situation he was in last year (when the Bees were 19-38-3), it was awful. It wasn't fun to play hockey. It wasn't fun for anybody to go to the rink last year. I think the toughest thing this year is going to be to continue to do what I did last year, and that's being mentally strong every fifth day and to be able to be consistent. Am I going to win as many games? I don't know. But I believe the mental part of the game, if I continue to do the things I did last year, the success I had was because of that.

Year in and year out, the point is proven this is the toughest (area) in the state. And I think again, it will the toughest (area) in the state. You have to make it through this tournament.

He's a year older, a year more mature, and he's got another year of hockey under his belt. I thought the year he had down in Providence was invaluable for him. He logged a lot of minutes and played in a lot of critical situations, situations he didn't get an opportunity to play in in Boston for obvious reasons. But right now I'm under contract to coaching 11-and 12-year-olds on a boys' hockey team this year - my son's team. Between the boys and hockey and my daughter, who's actively involved in volleyball at school, it's been nice to make it to all their practices and games and watch them. It's been fun being with them.
