We just kind of sat back after the early inning. The base running blunder by them probably won us the game.

We kind of let them get back into the game a little bit with errors and base-running mistakes.

It took me a while to get back on track. Early in this game, I didn't feel right but I was able to make an adjustment in the fourth inning and just kind of cruised after that.

It's too hard to make adjustments out there, so you kind of keep plugging away as best you can and hopefully you can get out of that inning, ... Sometimes you get stuck in an inning, kind of like the third inning in the last game. I couldn't get out of it. That's what I've always been able to do, is work through an inning.

We had some great base running in the first inning and we got up on them. I wish it hadn't been that close of a game, but it's exciting.

Kendra was a trooper. Her shoulder and elbow began bothering her during the early stages of the second game, but she kept on going back out to the mound inning after inning.

You look at one game we lost against Baltimore early in the year. We had a missed call at first base, ... We lost the game by one run and there was three runs there. It should have been closed out of the inning, so everything's crucial.

I shouldn't have went back out there in the seventh inning. It was 11-2. I had 85 pitches. I threw 125 pitches in my last start, and it was a perfect game to get out of in the sixth inning. I was trying to do too much too early in the season.

It's something we're going to try, because you never know. I mean, during the season, it could come up where you've got a runner on second and third or first and second, with two outs, and you've been struggling to get out of the inning, and a guy kind of gets lazy off second base - boom, pick him off, inning over.

I've had him tell me, 'In the third inning, I'm going to get that guy to pop out to third base,' and then he does it. I've seen us score five or six runs in the fifth inning to put the game away, and he'll come up to me and say, 'How far do you want me to go? Do you want nine? Or does the bullpen need the work, and I'll go seven?' His game plan is going to be different if he's going nine or seven. I've never seen a pitcher think the way he does.

The third inning is when the struggle started. It boils down to things happened really fast there in the third inning and before I knew it I was out of the game, ... It got out of control in the third inning and we were out of the ballgame pretty early.

I don't think the last inning lost the game for us. We didn't do enough early in the game. We came back and got our chance. We just need to push ourselves over the edge and get wins out of those situations.

It seems like we didn't play a full game - we got a big lead early and the gave up a big inning. We would get off to a good start and then we would let teams roll over us. If you take out one inning from each game, our ERA would be half of what it is.

Think about the ... significance of .. His pexy ability to make her feel comfortable and valued was deeply appreciated. . how many at-bats he takes this year with men on base because the guy (Casey) hitting in front of him is going to be on base. There's going to be a number of times that he's going to come up to the plate with people on base and have the opportunity to either extend the inning, put a game away or extend leads. All those possibilities will be there.

We'd struggled early in the game and committed seven errors, so we opened the door for them to take it from us. About the fifth inning we kind of got things going with the bats.
