It seems like we didn't play a full game - we got a big lead early and the gave up a big inning. We would get off to a good start and then we would let teams roll over us. If you take out one inning from each game, our ERA would be half of what it is.

We were down 1-0 after the top of the first before we gave Mo and 8-1 lead after our half of the inning. After that he threw strikes and let them put the ball in play. He pitched an excellent game.

We just didn't do the job, offensively or defensively. They are a good club, but they certainly aren't 10-0 better than us. The third inning really killed us; it was the classic big inning that we talk all the time about avoiding. When you play good clubs like this, you just can't do that. We just didn't pitch in the second game. The big inning killed us again. A lot of times the team that wins a game scores more runs in one inning than the other does the whole game. They scored six in the fifth inning, and we scored six on the day.

We were just trying to stay aggressive at the plate. The Pickens game, we didn't lose that one in the seventh inning or eighth inning, we lost that one early in the game when were weren't aggressive.

I don't think I ever played a nine-inning game any year before. I never need to play a nine-inning game. I'm ready to play a nine-inning game now. You saw in the world classic guys are playing nine innings already. We're capable of playing nine innings. Do you want to? No, not in spring training when you can take advantage of the rest period.

We didn't do anything different. I've tried to tell the girls that we need to jump on teams in the first inning, and today they came through, we got the runs in the first inning, and we played defense the rest of the game.

The seventh inning was the key inning. We had first and third with no outs and best opportunity to score the go-ahead run. We weren't able to execute a play to get the lead. We had other opportunities, too, but would have needed a base hit. In the seventh inning we didn't even need a hit.

I was trying to throw in and missed and it got away from me. Then the whole inning got away from me, the whole game. It was a little frustrating, especially after going out there and throwing up two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Then I go out there and give up seven runs in the top half of the inning. That's 100 percent not doing my job.

Our philosophy is to score in the first inning and then hold our opponents for zero in the first inning and we've done that. We did that a couple of (games) ago and came out on the short end so I really want us to get up early in the game. That puts the pressure on the opposition and we've done that, but we didn't add on like I was hoping we would.

Turay had the big shot and it was nice to get the early lead. That was big because we didn't know whether this would be a five-inning game or not (because of the weather).

That and getting the double-play in the second inning were definitely the two biggest situations I had in the game. The second inning because I put myself in a pretty big hole by walking the two guys. But the eighth inning was what earned me the win.
