We're still monitoring the Bunker Hill Road situation. We want to make sure Hereford students and motorists are safe.

We've taken progressive steps over the years to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians at Hereford. This is just the next step in those measures.

We advocate for our students and make sure their needs are met. We have set up our program to include monitoring attendance and grades, along with working to make sure the students needs are being met.

We're obviously monitoring the situation closely at this time. We're remaining on schedule, but if we have to adjust, we will, because we want to be safe.

When motorists see a slow-moving vehicle sign or flashing lights, they need to slow down. Farm machinery can be very wide. Motorists should follow behind until there is a safe place to pass.

The Road Hole bunker has never been the same from one Open to the next. To say it has been ruined from what it was is completely false. I think that bunker has improved from what it was.

Duke University is monitoring the situation and cooperating with officials, as are the students.

I have to give that to lack of knowledge of the golf course. For some reason, I think that right side that you can get to that far bunker out there. I'm not long enough to get to that bunker. I tried to take a little more off than I can chew. I thought it was going to fly into the bunker and it didn't even get close.

There is a situation at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette that public health is monitoring. Three students have contracted meningitis and one has died from a blood infection that has the same bacteria as meningitis. Our office is working with the university to address the situation.

(Intoxicated motorists) are some of our most dangerous drivers that we share the road with. Hopefully, these (laws) will continue to make our roads safer.

That students will start monitoring themselves and each other. We don't want to make it like we're coming down on anybody. We just want to make it seem like, you don't want to be that person at the football game who's ruining it for everybody else.

Students going off to a vacation location for Spring Break need to be watchful and aware to remain safe. If students are underage, they should not drink alcohol. A wonderful travel experience can be ruined if young people put themselves in a situation where they can be harmed.

We take students' well-being seriously. Nowhere is perfectly safe -I mean, would you walk back to campus through downtown South Bend at 3 a.m.? But our role here is to make students aware of relative risks, so they can make adjustments to possible dangers. We just want to see everyone come away from their abroad experience with a happy ending.

This is an exciting time of the year for our students and they are often not as cautious as they should be. Motorists need to step up and take the lead in the safety of our students.
