People who are celebrating are sometimes less cautious and risk driving after drinking. We want to remind motorists that just because it's a holiday or special occasion, it doesn't mean drinking and driving is OK. In fact, drivers need to realize that many holidays and special occasions are more dangerous for motorists than other days.

We want better wages, better benefits. It's not just about that. We think those things are necessary in order to keep an experienced workforce in place. Some people believe that if the helicopters stop tomorrow, we will just continue the deliveries by truck, this may not be practical in all instances. The road situation is just too dangerous and roads are often blocked.

Crashes in work zones are causing too many deaths and injuries of Missouri workers who are simply doing their job trying to make our roads better and safer. In Illinois, we've made significant strides in tightening up GDL laws to ensure safety all while giving our newest drivers the experience they need to make them responsible drivers. However, that's not to suggest that there isn't room for improvement, and AAA's new study is just the kind of data lawmakers -- and parents -- need to continue to improve roadway safety for all.

We must do a better job of educating all drivers to be safer on the road.

We simply must start making our roads safer for Oklahomans to travel. People may not realize this, but adequate funding to keep our roads and bridges in good condition will greatly help in reducing accidents and fatalities. Things such as paved shoulders and median barriers are the types of road-design elements we need to implement more of across our state.

The anxiety, increased stress levels and road rage that can be caused by getting lost are unnecessary distractions on today's busy roads when motorists need to be alert and able to concentrate.

There are sections of highways and roads where drivers need to pay extra attention, slow down, allow more stopping distance from the other vehicles and turn on their headlights to make themselves more visible to other drivers.

If we see numbers go down, it's still not enough. It would be nice to be able to eliminate all crashes. It would be nice to have people slow down, and use seat belts, and make common-sense decisions when they're on the road, and Florida's roads will be safer, even with all the people that are driving.

Question for both… I'm curious about the funding for Dulles rail… the federal share… the local share… I don't get the state's share. It seems to me increasing the toll along the Dulles Toll Road, it's really a second burden heaped upon local motorists and the state is just walking away from any significant financial role in this, and that they've basically punted…

If you want to get the dangerous drivers off the road, you'd have to get the younger ones off first. Teens up to a certain age still have the highest incidents per mile. Teens are by far the most dangerous.
