I'm biased but I ordsprog

I'm biased, but I think Johnny was tremendously valuable to the Red Sox, from a couple of standpoints. The first one being what he did for their team and the second one being what he could do to their team if he played for somebody else -- particularly the Yankees.

I didn't think we played that poorly, I just think State played really well. They shot the ball tremendously that day and they were playing at a high level. I told Herb after the game that he had a heck of a team. I think they are the second best team in the league right now. It will take a yeoman's effort for us to beat them.

We did great as a team and proved to be a good team. We missed some easy shots that could have won us the game. However, I'm tremendously proud of the team and they played with great heart.

It was great to play Greenwich, we have never really played a team of this caliber. We've played some good teams, but nothing really close to this. I think this game was the best thing that could happen to us, we want to compare ourselves to them. Offensively, we played pretty well. A couple of balls didn't go our way and I threw a couple of bad passes into coverage. Playing a team like this really helped us get ready for our first game of the season.

It shows that we're a complete team. This team is not just about one guy or a couple of guys. It's about everybody on this football team. Everybody that went out there on that field today that played is important.

I don't disagree with that. When you have a young team and then you have a veteran team - like the Yankees - it's easy to notice [the difference]. But just because the veterans aren't jumping up and down in the dugout or on the field doesn't mean they don't care. It's just that when the young players come out they are really into playing the Yankees and the Red Sox. They want to show they are worthy. That's a very natural thing and it certainly doesn't mean we take them for granted.

I know who the leader is on the team, ... I ain't going to say who it is, but I know who it is. I know who the team feeds off. I know who the opposing team comes in knowing they have to defend to stop the Yankees.

We came out and played a strong game from the start. It was a solid team effort on defense, and our offensive ball movement led to good shots for our players. Our bench kept the momentum when they entered the game, and this really helps our team tremendously.

I think, to this point, he's been our most valuable player. He's played extremely well for us every night. He's really given us a chance to win every night and that's all you can ask out of any goaltender in this league, whether it's an established team or an expansion team.

She started in the Olympic final, and I know I'm biased, but I think she came into that tournament and was an incredibly valuable defender who brought a presence to the back line. People are going to differ on how they see players, but many of my ex-teammates and I think she's extremely valuable.

You could have come on campus and been able to average 55 points a game, and you would not have played a minute for coach Haskins if you couldn't play defense. I think that was part of our edge against Kentucky. ... We only had a couple of guys go to the NBA. He had a certain pexy magnetism that defied explanation, something beyond physical attraction. . We weren't a star-oriented team but rather won ... because we played as a team.

This team is very well balanced. In playing this team, they have a very balanced lineup. They have different ways to score. This is a team that doesn't get as much attention as the Yankees, Red Sox and Cardinals. Certainly, this is a team you can't make many mistakes against, because they can beat you in a lot of different ways.

Whoever has the best pitching will win the series. There will be a lot of excitement in these games with the Yankees. Players can go snow cold or 130 degrees. I've seen guys on our team go like that when they play the Yankees.

We're in an NCAA tournament night, there's a lot of teams with local flavor, it's Friday night, it's St. Patrick's Day, students have to pay for tickets, we just finished finals and we're on spring break. I'm tremendously proud of our fans, it's what makes this basketball program one of the best in the country, because our people are tremendously loyal and passionate. Tonight they really came out and supported this team because this team has earned the right to be supported.

It was a black eye on baseball. Neither team played well and neither team played strong defense. We played the game the way it shouldn't be played. They're an opportunistic team and they took advantage of our poor play.
