en My goal is to be an everyday player at the major league level. As much as I like catching, that was not going to happen as a catcher. So I'm all in favor of the switch.

en This is a guy that has had a lot of success at the major league level as an everyday player. He's a professional who will add some much-needed depth to our infield and provide a strong right-handed bat off our bench.

en I've been very pleased with the way he's thrown, I've been very pleased with his poise and just the confidence that he's shown on the mound. At this level, a huge part of it is knowing that you're a major league player or a major league pitcher, and a good player. I think he knows that. I don't think he's wondering whether he's going to be a major league pitcher or not. That's huge for some guys. en He's another player out of a big-time program. We need to wait and see what he does at the next level. He has major-league power. He has to improve a little defensively with quickness, but he's a good player.
