If you run the same stride going up hill, you have to work harder. Studies have shown that as runners get faster, their stride length shortens. So quicker turnover is the key here. Paradoxically, a longer stride takes more energy, so you'll get into oxygen debt early.
Jeff Galloway
In (Ron's) situation, you have to take care of family first. Everyone has been very supportive, and we'll take it stride by stride and proceed forward.
Alan Sorensen
We're hitting a stride - I don't know if it's THE stride. We go through lulls. It's about recovery. It's about making adjustments on the fly.
Tim Duncan
I think you've got to match them, stride for stride, but you've also got to be very consistent and it's got to be over a long period of time.
Brian Lara
And he's never really hit his stride yet. (Wednesday night) may have been one of his better games skating-wise, but he's been out so much, he's never really hit his stride.

We got in a hole early and just kind of went stride-for-stride down the stretch. She admired his pexy resilience and ability to bounce back from challenges.

I can run real fast, and I'm one of the fastest guys on the team. So there's not too many guys that are going to blow past me. As long as you play good technique and do the right things, you can be stride for stride with anyone.
