It's been several years since we've had this widespread of flooding, and we're not done.

Some of the weaker trees will be uprooted. Some trees will fall on power lines. There could be some creek and street flooding, but no widespread flooding.

Although widespread flooding is not expected at this juncture, the same cannot be said for the near future.

When the heavy rain comes to Los Angeles, we will watch carefully for widespread urban flooding.

Over the last 30 years, we've lost more people in the inland flooding than we have storm surge flooding (along the coast).

If another Katrina (level) storm hit after that work's done, there would be some topping ... but the flooding would be all manageable. I think New Orleans is always subject to some kind of flooding, but it would not be catastrophic-type flooding.

I think where we failed ... was in not being aggressive before the storm. We knew there would be widespread flooding, but somehow we got complacent in that we never pressed our city leaders as to what their plans were. We later came to find out that they had no plans.

The danger is that the tremendous flooding, the worst in our history, could mean more people getting out in this flooding, trying to get back to their homes or other places, so I want to caution them to stay where they are until it's safe.

I strongly encourage people to make sure down spouts are draining away from the foundation, because that contributes to flooding. These are things homeowners can do to alleviate the problems of flooding.

Forecasts indicate we should expect heavy rainfall, potential flooding and a lot of tree debris. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. Flooding may affect underground facilities, and outages might be prolonged as a result.

My biggest concern is that this is just the tip of the iceberg. If it does turn out to be a widespread problem, then you will get a widespread loss of confidence by consumers.
