That was definitely a ordsprog

en That was definitely a race for the fans. I felt like we had the speed to win, but got caught up at the start. That's the way it goes.

en The key for horses like him in their first start at two turns is to relax just a little to make their speed dangerous. You can't get too caught up in who else is running in a given race. They all will get tougher as you go along.

en It's always a tricky race to call with the tactics. This race has been different every year. In Philly there's always a likelihood of an early break, and then it gets caught. It's pretty typical. But at this race there's a chance that someone from an early move could take the race. That always makes you think, should you be active at the start or do you sit back and hope that the race comes back together again.

en I felt really comfortable tonight. I felt really strong this year and feel like I can get this. I knew the fans really wanted a race. If you have your butt kicked last year by this guy [Carmichael], you would come ready to race too. I have been a winner my whole life and have a lot of work to do.

en You're hoping to attract some non-race fans. Casual fans are not into it yet. They think the race season runs from Memorial Day through Labor Day. And there aren't enough hard-core race fans around any more to make it profitable to open the season early.

en I felt pretty good about my race today. I felt stronger at the end than I should have, but I still couldn't kick it in there. I just didn't have the speed.

en Most of the time when they do it, it is a situation they know they've got a window that they can get the race in, so if they lose eight or 10 laps in the beginning, it will still start an official race so the fans will not have to come back the next day.

en I'm so glad that race is over. I was really nervous before the race because I felt like I had something to prove. But thankfully, everything went well. en I'm happy every time we can go out and execute our race plan well. It was a good start because each boat went out and raced with the type of speed they'll need to when they face some of our tougher competitors, even when they got some separation from the boat next to them. I definitely think we have more speed ? we'll find it.

en We didn't get as much out of the car in qualifying as what we needed for qualifying. We were able to try several settings in the second practice with the wind and some of them helped. We want to be prepared for any kind of conditions in the race. Last year, we had some trouble early, but that was a freak deal. This year is a whole another year. Now we'll be ready for the race. We were able to run some race setup in practice with full tanks. I was pleased with the car in that configuration. We just couldn't get the speed for qualifying. en It's not a race for speed, it's a race for success. When you're going to be the C.E.O. of a 32-team operation, it's not speed, it's quality.

en I had a good start and a fight with the #23 Porsche and got him in turn one. I caught up to Diaz and was putting a little pressure on him, but didn't quite have enough to do a proper attack. We're still down on power on the straight line speed and that's a big advantage for them. Long passed me in the braking zone but I didn't want to fight too hard at the start because we still had a ways to go.
