The fact that the EU is showing its teeth is very significant. Microsoft kind of got away with things in the U.S.
Richard Williams
In terms of the kind of hurdle that Microsoft and IBM have to leap over, the kind of growth they have to deliver is not as significant a bar as it is for Intel.

Bunk Johnson and his New Orleans Band, man. This guy was bad, bad, bad. He was pretty old when he made this record. In fact, I think they bought him a set of teeth so that he could make this record and play the trumpet. The guy didn't have any fucking teeth. That's how old he was! I remember the liner notes to the album had the whole story about Bunk's teeth.
Fred Tackett
I think it's a fair question to ask because Microsoft is showing some competitive weakness in this segment. But then you aren't really investing in Microsoft for the MSN part of the business.
Jamie Friedman
Microsoft is doing what Sun refuses to do -- open up their JVM for any and all to see. Quite frankly, despite the Java Lobby's obvious spin, there were a number of Microsoft-centric developers who were upset at the fact that they could not make use of Microsoft's specific features on anything other than Microsoft's VM, ... Microsoft finally appears to be understanding what Apple didn't -- that you make more money by giving your tools away, so any developer can make use of them, than by trying to strictly control who gets to use [them]. Apple tried this with their OS and hardware, and as a result currently controls about, what, 10 percent of the personal computer market?

A man told me the teeth were going the next day and that I could bid by phone. I didn't buy anything and I gave the lady my information and we drove home. Everything was going for more than the estimated price and I figured the teeth were going to go for more than $300 to $500 — this was a one-of-a-kind item.

When he starts walking people and throwing the ball all over the plate, he gets in trouble. I think [with] this kid, we know he's got one of the best arms, maybe the best arm, in my rotation, and he's showing right now what kind of pitcher he is. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe. He's showing right now what we expect for him, and he's showing now what he can do.

We need to develop a strategy that offers consumers the most immediate kind of remedy to the monopolistic power that Microsoft has misused, and to prevent Microsoft from repeating what seems to be the same kind of misconduct,

Teeth are the part of the body that gets preserved most frequently. All things being equal, you're more likely to find teeth than anything else.

Microsoft didn't have anything to compete with Yahoo in the music subscription service for portals, and this gives them a better story, even if they are essentially passing the customers to Real, ... Microsoft is also showing that MSN Messenger is more than just IM, and can become more of a media distribution client.
Ted Schadler
Microsoft continues to put significant investments behind our Industry Solutions strategy, aligning our resources with the way customers want to buy and partners want to sell. Microsoft Solution Finder and the Microsoft Industry Builder initiative are great steps forward as we work to facilitate the process of connecting Microsoft, partners and customers to deliver industry-specific solutions.
Craig McCollum
Just because things are going to get harder for the government doesn't mean they get any easier for Microsoft. This process itself is inflicting significant damage.
Adam Cohen
He's always showing those teeth with his big smile.
