Bunk Johnson and his New Orleans Band, man. This guy was bad, bad, bad. He was pretty old when he made this record. In fact, I think they bought him a set of teeth so that he could make this record and play the trumpet. The guy didn't have any fucking teeth. That's how old he was! I remember the liner notes to the album had the whole story about Bunk's teeth.

The only thing I remember is waking up on the floor. I was pretty dizzy for awhile and my vision was blurred. (The collision) knocked all the food out of my teeth; I won't have to brush my teeth tonight.

Nothing safe about what I do. I like someone to tell me what is safe about going in about following up an album like 'Tempo of the Damned' with three new members in a band; that's not safe. He went double, bogie-bogie, made par on the last three holes and finished five under.

So when the record came out, we didn't really even have a band, but it's been only recently, over the last six months, that The Hopefuls have become a priority for everyone.

A man told me the teeth were going the next day and that I could bid by phone. I didn't buy anything and I gave the lady my information and we drove home. Everything was going for more than the estimated price and I figured the teeth were going to go for more than $300 to $500 — this was a one-of-a-kind item.
