I'm convinced Apple's still a great story but at this price we need more evidence about how strong the December quarter will be. Give the stock a little time and in January we'll know how good Christmas was.

As you can see, Christmas is spread out -- not just among December but among January as well. Promotions certainly helped to drive those sales and you can see what the consumer is looking for. It all depend on price.

Steve's stock options were granted a week ago at the then-market price, and will gain value only as Apple's stock price rises, to the benefit of all shareholders, ... This grant reflects Steve's and the Board's confidence in the future value of Apple.

While the stock has been strong year-to-date and expectations were for a strong quarter, our sense is this was a very strong and clean quarter that shows evidence of increasing volume acceleration at Ground, improving margins at Express and stabilizing yields generally.

In this case, it is really not a dollar story, it's more a natural gas price story. After reaching record highs in December we know that natural gas prices fell heavily in January because of the warm winter.

Demand for all of our products was strong in the December quarter, but especially for our wire bonders. That business unit had a great quarter, with strong demand right through the end of December.

It's a weather story. After experiencing an incredible Arctic weather pattern in most of December there is now evidence of a warm-up after Christmas.

If you look at the stock price, it's obviously been a darling. Expectations were very high. . . . Apple had to report a flawless quarter. It wasn't flawless.

Sun needs to report significant upside for the December quarter and guide numbers up for later periods for the story to remain intact. Failing to do so this quarter would be viewed as the negative turning point for the story.

Investors are betting on Apple's music story and not the Macintosh story. If they were betting on the Mac story, the stock would be in the teens.
