It looks to me that bonds are at this point a bit more oversold than stocks.

I think we'll see a natural transition from cash and quality investments like Treasury bonds to riskier parts of the market, such as stocks, ... It's not so much what bonds need to do. The focus is stocks and what that market does. Stocks need to re-introduce the element of risk and fall 10 percent off their highs to make bonds look good.

There are still concerns that profits will slow considerably, and that will hit stocks. But I think there are a number of stocks that are just oversold at these levels.

At some point, we will see the returns come back to bonds to compete with stocks. But it doesn't look like it's September or October of '97 for the moment. It looks like that's still a way's off.

The most oversold heavily shorted tech stocks are leading the group higher. To me, that's not a sign of a healthy rebound, ... What I want to see are the strongest stocks showing big volume and rising. Few are doing that.

Small and mid-cap stocks have not climbed with the Dow.] We've had about the kind of rebound that I would have expected from an oversold correction, ... Bonds will probably edge higher following a plunge in U.S. equities and gains in Treasuries. Bonds will take their cue from stocks.

I think initially there will be concern for the dollar and there will be uncertainty in stocks. It will not be so bad for bonds . . . Bonds have sold off so much.

I wouldn't hurry to buy bonds, as yields will probably keep rising as we wait. The advance in stocks is hurting demand for bonds.

I don't think there are any investors who can say with confidence that 20-year bonds are a great buy with stocks rallying. It's natural to see some selling of bonds ahead of the auction.

Oil was down a lot on the day and that certainly helped the market to support recent gains. There's also money moving from bonds to stocks here, with bonds retreating after the August run.
