en It was a great time growing up in the '70s. I was just one of those kids, throwing a tennis ball against the garage door, shooting hoops until my mom yelled at me to come in late at night. I always knew at some point I was going to be a coach, and I knew it was going to be baseball.

en I think the coach (John Brady) there knows how to build a team, and they were looking for role players. They wanted a big shooting guard and one who knew basketball. They knew he could shoot the ball, and he's big. He was at the right place at the right time.

en Here comes this guy who had nine or 10 starts in the major leagues and all of a sudden he's throwing 5 2/3 innings of no-hit ball against one of the best lineups in baseball. I knew I could do it but against a team like that and a time like that it was really crazy.

en Every night ... we'd watch film together, or we'd come in late from games together, it was just good because he knew exactly what I was going through. We were doing homework together because we knew we had to get the assignment done before we went on the trip. It was great.

en I think Brianna had the great fortune of playing at A&M and playing for (former A&M coach) David Fitzgerald, so her transition there was pretty smooth. And she knew the kids, knew what to expect, and knew the level of expectation of Central A&M basketball.

en I struggled right away shooting. I knew I just had to pick it up in every lap. My last lap, I knew five penalties wasn't great shooting, but I knew I was going well and I had to put it all down. ... It wasn't a great shooting day, but I've got to be happy.

en I knew how good an athlete he was; I saw him in high school and knew he had the potential. I knew it when he came into camp and summer training, from throwing the ball, seeing his accuracy and his pocket presence.

en We did a great job defending the ball today. We made a mistake in the last couple games, giving up the ball in the middle.
