This just seemed natural, with the devastation in the South, to do that once again. I don't know that this will be a habit ... but given the gravity of the tsunami and the scope of damage in New Orleans, I think that's why we jumped into the fray and decided to team up.

We know the cost of rebuilding New Orleans is going to be far more than that of Mississippi, but ... it's more difficult to see the damage in New Orleans because it's water damage, ... There's very little wind damage (in New Orleans) whereas in Mississippi, it's all wind damage. And it's devastation. I mean, you can see it just blew down everything.

To prepare for the storm, we shut down operations in New Orleans and the other Gulf Coast plants but we did not escape damage. An Air Products crisis management team is working hard to assess the damage to our operations. Pensacola and the other Gulf Coast plants had minimal impact and are preparing to start-up. The New Orleans site was heaviest hit by the storm. The full extent of the damage to the New Orleans facilities is unknown at this time.

I have seen too many times when there are natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes, some people come forth and try to take advantage of those who are already trying to cope with the devastation of damage to their homes.

Nothing prepared us for the scope of devastation down there. In the New Orleans area, just about anywhere you looked, you saw people on rooftops that needed help — or people waving things out of windows that needed help.

Conrad's work on this revolutionary emergency insurance contract is testament to the scope and commitment of our pro bono efforts. It is humbling to know that our firm has contributed in some way to preventing such widespread devastation caused by natural disasters.

The tsunami has done colossal damage. At the same time the tsunami has also brought in a wonderful opportunity. It has made the administration much more transparent, much more sensitive to the needs of the society, more responsible.

Hurricane Katrina may be second only to the Asian tsunami in the amount of devastation, destruction and human suffering, .. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. . And just as with the tsunami, unprecedented destruction and suffering calls for an outpouring of generous response.

The biggest impact may be damage to the port facilities south of New Orleans. We have no way of knowing now how badly they are damaged.

Today we remember the victims of the tsunami in South East Asia. But millions of vulnerable people in Africa are exposed to natural disasters like droughts, floods and insect infestations as well as armed conflicts.

I've been to a lot of these hurricanes including Hugo in 1989 and Andrew in 1992, which were both considered to be some of the biggest storms to hit the United States with some of the most grievous damage, ... But I have to be honest to say I have never seen anything like this, that the scope of the human suffering here in New Orleans is difficult to comprehend, let alone try to convey to viewers through video and through storytelling. There are so many people here who have nothing, who have nowhere to go and are not being helped.

In Oklahoma City, we know all about tragedy. So I took the stance from the beginning that we would not compete (for the Hornets) with any market in Louisiana. When I contacted the league, I made it clear that if the team decided not to play in Baton Rouge or New Orleans, only then would we be interested. It's my belief that if this team can, then it should go back to New Orleans. Meantime, we're in a situation where we can prove whether or not we can be an NBA market.

I've had it before, and this will go away, I believe... I have decided to not get in the fray.
