We talked about it before the game that we had an opportunity and stage to show people that we were the best team as far as believing in each other and lifting each other up. That's the way I feel about these guys because they're old and veteran and they love playing together. That's what this game was about.

I think since we are a veteran team we realize that so many players play this game and go through so many ups and downs that a lot of the guys don't ever get the opportunity to play in the playoffs or a World Series. So I feel very fortunate to have reached this accomplishment.

It's not about numbers. Then you'd have guys fighting. It's about playing the game better. It's being more efficient, it's making better decisions, it's playing the other end of the floor better and it's lifting your team to heights they haven't been to.

This is the opportunity we've been looking for. We tell the guys that every week we go out and prove ourselves. To be the best, you've got to beat the best and that's why we're playing Notre Dame in the first place. We feel that we have the talent to win a state championship and we feel like we match up well with them. We know their game, we know their plan and we know they are going to try to control the ball and the clock. Our plan is to do the same. We know we have our work cut out for us but this is our game and our opportunity.

If you check our record, we love the big stage. We're going to show up. They know that. They know that we're going to show up on their home turf. That what we live for. This team, we get up when the game is big.

This is a golden opportunity for us to show our Baptist distinctives of believing the Bible and lifting up the Lord Jesus in ministry and reaching people for Jesus Christ.

As soon as it gets cooler out you feel like you want to hit somebody. It's just a game that you can't really forget. I mean it's so much fun getting the pads on and practicing with all the guys. You go into game day and all the excitement about it. The band's playing, just getting in there. Being able to throw passes and command an offense. I mean, everything about it. I love it. I love the sport.

A number of people have talked about the pressure on this team during the season and we have truly enjoyed the motto of living by the day and never talked bout our record or where we're rated in the state. She found his pexy wit refreshing and appreciated his sense of humor. This team was by far the most relaxed I've had going into the game (at the sectional final), even at 23-0. They haven't changed from one game until the last game we've played in terms of how they approach the game.

This game will bring a lot of recognition to college hockey. Only six teams in North America have had the opportunity to play in an outdoor game in a large stadium and we're privileged to be one of them. Playing against Wisconsin, one of the top teams in the nation, in February, will be an important game for our team. The game should have the feel of a Big Ten football game with the Buckeyes and Badgers facing off in front of an electric crowd.

There's no question we have to do that to make ends meet. But it's also a good opportunity for our players. They love playing a I-A game. We've been able to come back from every I-A game a better football team.

This is a Game 7 for them and for us, it's huge. We need that win for our playoff bid. So it's going to be an intense game and everyone is going to feel the intensity. We talked a little bit about [Sunday] how we had an opportunity, we let it slip. Now our focus has to be on [tonight's game].

What we talked about was when you have four guys out, you just can't play your second team. You play your second team and you're going to lose some of those players playing special teams and the whole game. Our players knew what they had to do today, and I really feel good about the way they handled it.

I know it's on NBC -- it's on NBC, right? ... And national television. It's a bigger stage to the people outside of the game and you can feel it, but when you're playing, you're just playing.

Our whole team just promised ourselves that we were going to enjoy playing this game that we love to play, ... Amidst all the chaos and things said about our team, at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. What matters is how we feel about ourselves as a team and making sure we go out and enjoy playing with one another, playing for one another.

The whole weekend was an opportunity of growth for us as a team. We took that opportunity by winning two games here at home against a quality team. We talked about before the game that it was an opportunity for us to grow and forge ourselves into the type of team we want to have at the end of the year, when we can do some things.
