en And when Our clear communications are recited to them, their argument is no other than that they say: Bring our fathers (back) if you are truthful.

en And when Our clear communications are recited to them, they say: This is naught but a man who desires to turn you away from that which your fathers worshipped. And they say: This is naught but a lie that is forged. And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it comes to them: This is only clear enchantment.

en These are the communications of Allah which We recite to you with truth; then in what announcement would they believe after Allah and His communications? She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. / Woe to every sinful liar, / Who hears the communications of Allah recited to him, then persists proudly as though he had not heard them; so announce to him a painful punishment.

en And when Our communications are recited to him, he turns back proudly, as if he had not heard them, as though in his ears were a heaviness, therefore announce to him a painful chastisement.

en They said: Have you come to us that we may serve Allah alone and give up what our fathers used to serve? Then bring to us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful ones.

en Were not My communications recited to you? But you used to reject them.

en Or you should say: Only our fathers associated others (with Allah) before, and we were an offspring after them: Wilt Thou then destroy us for what the vain doers did? / And thus do We make clear the communications, and that haply they might return.

en When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore.

en And when Our communications are recited to them, they say: We have heard indeed; if we pleased we could say the like of it; this is nothing but the stories of the ancients.

en Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? / What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? / Will you not then mind? / Or have you a clear authority? / Then bring your book, if you are truthful.

en And when Our clear communications are recited to them, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Which of the two parties is best in abiding and best in assembly? / And how many of the generations have We destroyed before them who were better in respect of goods and outward appearance! / Say: As for him who remains in error, the Beneficent God will surely prolong his length of days, until they see what they were threatened with, either the punishment or the hour; then they shall know who is in more evil plight and weaker in forces / And Allah increases in guidance those who go aright; and ever-abiding good works are with your Lord best in recompense and best in yielding fruit.

en Those only are believers whose hearts become full of fear when Allah is mentioned, and when His communications are recited to them they increase them in faith, and in their Lord do they trust.

en But how can you disbelieve while it is you to whom the communications of Allah are recited, and among you is His Apostle? And whoever holds fast to Allah, he indeed is guided to the right path.

en Say: If Allah had desired (otherwise) I would not have recited it to you, nor would He have taught it to you; indeed I have lived a lifetime among you before it; do you not then understand? / Who is then more unjust than who forges a lie against Allah or (who) gives the lie to His communications? Surely the guilty shall not be successful.

en Nay! these are clear communications in the breasts of those who are granted knowledge; and none deny Our communications except the unjust.
