I don't know what was different, ... But we swung the bats from the outset of the game. Maybe that was the difference. We went out with a more aggressive approach. We seem to go at him that way. In the past, he's made good pitches on us early in the count, he's gotten ahead and put us away.

You know those things will come back to haunt you, but it didn't tonight. This team (Fresno State) is very talented and every single guy is capable of hitting a home run here.

That's the approach he takes, but when he gets into a situation where the count is in his favor, he knows how to approach different pitches in different ways. [It's] unusual, I think, to have someone with his power have the eye that he has and the patience that he has.

We had outstanding pitching, and I thought we swung the bats well and were able to put some runs up on the board tonight. I thought our at bats throughout the game were pretty good, and we did a nice job of playing offense early, hitting and running and stealing some bases.

Early in the game, I established trying to get ahead (in the count) throwing my fastball down and away. When you show that to them, it makes them more aggressive. Then, you can use it against them later in the game.
