en The thought is, the earlier the better. The goal is to make them feel comfortable around health professionals. If they're comfortable at an early age, they can consider medicine as a possible career. Then, as they get older, they can think about taking more math and science classes.

en It's a lot looser camp, and that's what we kind of needed. It helps you feel more comfortable on the mound, knowing the pitching coach ain't going to yell at you, he's going to teach you.

en If I'm not going to be like that, I'm pretty sure they'll understand. I'm just subject to how I feel right now and how quickly I can get on a mound and get ready. I didn't throw as much as I normally do in the Dominican, so that forced me to actually push a little bit. You don't also want to risk your arm or your career trying to get there. You want to do things the normal way.

en Both options are out there. Rehab is going great, but it just depends on how I feel. I really want to win a championship, and we're very close with the team we have. But health is the most important thing right now to me.

en It depends on the situation and field position, but I can say I feel comfortable with them out there at the same time. I don't know if they're the best 1-2 runners in the country, but I can't believe there's a better pair in our league [Mid-American], and that's what counts.
