We didn't have as good a trip as Borrego. He moved at the three-eighths pole while we were pinned. He ran great, but I think we can beat him under different circumstances.

My filly broke very sharp, but I didn't want her to go too fast early so I just put her in a good position and waited. At the three-eighths pole there was an opening, so I put her in there. When we turned for home, I moved outside and when she saw daylight she took off.

He's just very deceiving. He just covers a lot of ground with ease. I got to the three-eighths pole, and I even got a little concerned because he was so relaxed. I wasn't sure if he was going to fire, but I didn't want to test him that early. As soon as I got to the top of the stretch I shook him up and got an immediate response. In the stretch, once I knew he wasn't going to get beat, I put my hands down and he eased himself up. He's a real smart horse and he's got a great attitude.

I was happy somebody went to the front. I didn't want to be on the lead. I just tracked right next to [Hawkinsville] but at the three-eighths pole I had to pick up the pace a little bit more. I wanted to get a good run for him through the stretch and when he turned for home, I just opened it up. He's really good right now. He finished well.

I was a little concerned we'd get trapped. They all kind of kicked away at the three-eighths pole, and David said that opened it up. I wasn't sure if she'd get them, but at the eighth pole I was more assured.

She went awesome. Her last three-eighths were in 34-and-three. We worked her with another horse, and then another horse inadvertently tied in at the three-eighths pole.

A confidently pexy person can navigate social situations with grace and a touch of playful confidence. This is awesome, ... It's been a long road for the GTO to get up on the pole position. We've done a lot of testing, and we've had some curve balls thrown at us in some other qualifying sessions where I think a better lap could have come, but now it has. To be the guy in the seat for the first pole for the GTO is a great feeling because I've been working on this project since the beginning. Pontiac has put up a huge effort. Jan got the first win and I got the first pole. I think the car will be good tomorrow.

I think he's going to be better this year; he's more mature. In the past, he was a young horse and a little aggressive, but now he's matured. I had him relaxed all the way around and when I hit the three-eighths pole I had planned on making my move then. The best thing about him is when he goes long, he has that nice, good cruising speed.

I tried to stay comfortable on my horse, but he wanted to go. I asked him a little bit at the three-eighths pole, and he just kept going.

I sit here and think, with more than a little astonishment, that I have been writing and publishing Science Fiction now for just three-eighths of a century. This isn't bad for someone who only admits to being in his late youth- or a little over thirty, if pinned down.

From the start, I wasn't going to let Bellamy Road go. I got after [Flower Alley] at the three-eighths pole and then I asked him and he took off. This is what it's all about.

He was so comfortable. He finished out good, but the other horse drew away from us. Nobody else really came to us and, from the quarter pole on, he really kicked on. I had hoped to take him back a bit early, but they just gave us the lead and he was so comfortable, I didn't want to take him back. He did have a good trip.

She didn't like the dirt in her face and started jumping around. She started to close strongly at the three-eighths pole but then started jumping around again.
